Mengusung tema “Theory and Practice of Conservation, Restoration, and Sustainable use of Ecosystem in Rural Area”, kegiatan International Project Based Learning (IPBL) 2019 diikuti oleh 40 peserta dari 5 negara, yakni Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Afghanistan, dan Tajikistan. Berlangsungnya acara ini atas kerjasama Kemenristekdikti, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Diponegoro, dan Politeknik Negeri Jakarta.

Mewakili Dekan Fakultas Teknik, Dr. Wirawan Sumbodo, M.T. selaku Wakil Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan membuka jalannya acara. Dalam sambutannya beliau mengapresiasi kegiatan ini karena merupakan bentuk kepedulian generasi muda terhadap lingkungan. Disisi lain, kegiatan ini menjadi sarana dalam menjalin relasi internasional. Tampak hadir juga dalam kegiatan ini Kepala International Office UNNES, Intan Permata Hapsari, S.Pd., M.Pd.

International Project Based Learning (IPBL) diadakan selama 5-12 Agustus 2019. Setiap peserta yang mengikuti IPBL akan melaksanakan berbagai kegiatan seperti Lecturing, Presentation, Traditional Games, Mangrove Planting, Practice of Planning, Renovating and Repairing Sanitation Systems in Primary Schools, Campus Tour, dan Fieldtrip di kawasan Semarang.

Bertempat di Ruang Prof Soedartono Gedung Dekanat Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Semarang, kegiatan IPBL memasuki pelaksanaan hari ke-3. Seluruh peserta mengikuti lecturing dengan pembicara Dr.Kulthida Nugultham. Beliau merupakan The deputy dean for student and international affair and lecturer di Faculty of Education and Development Sciences, Kasetsart University, Thailand. Menutup acara IPBL hari ke-3, selepas kegiatan lecturing seluruh peserta melaksanakan kegiatan campus tour di Universitas Negeri Semarang.
