Sabtu (05/05/2018), Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik menggelar acara Seminar Nasional yang bertajuk Teknologi dan Budaya. Acara yang diselenggarakan di Auditorium Universitas Negeri Semarang tersebut dihadiri lebih dari 1700 peserta dari berbagai daerah.

Dr. Nur Qudus, M.T selaku dekan Fakultas Teknik dalam sambutannya menyampaikan bahwa teknologi akan mendatangkan manfaat jika berada di tangan orang yang benar. Dan sebaliknya, bahwa teknologi akan merugikan jika berada di tangan yang salah. Sebagai salah satu usaha menyongsong persaingan di era disrupsi seperti sekarang, memang Sumber Daya Manusia dituntut untuk mengikuti perkembangan zaman termasuk didalamnya yaitu perkembangan teknologi. Namun keselarasan teknologi tersebut juga harus diimbangi dengan kelestarian budaya yang harus tetap kita jaga.

Dalam acara tersebut, hadir dua tokoh nasional yaitu Ricky Elson seorang tokoh teknologi nasional dan Sudjiwo Tedjo sebagai tokoh budayawan Indonesia. Mereka berdua memberikan pandangan dan gagasannya tentang teknologi dan budaya dalam perspektif dan paradigma mereka.

Sebagai negara besar yang lahir dengan warisan kebudayaan dan peradaban yang unggul, maka sudah sepatutnya kita semua menyikapi perkembangan teknologi dengan kritis dan bijaksana. Kebudayaan yang sejatinya telah mendarah daging dalam jati diri bangsa Indonesia sejatinya merupakan cikal bakal lahirnya Teknologi yang sekarang ada. Harapan dari kita semua, Bangsa Indonesia akan tetap kokoh dengan jati diri bangsa dan kuat dengan kedaulatan teknologi masa depan sehingga mampu bersaing dengan negara besar lainnya.
