Gubernur: Fokus dan Konsentrasikan Diri

Jawa Tengah itu sumbernya atlet. Karena itu, setiap atlet dari provinsi ini harus membuktikan diri dengan melaksanakan tugas secara fokus, mengonsentrasikan pikiran, damen lakukan dengan sungguh-sungguh dalam menghadapi lawan tanding untuk merebut juara.

Demikian arahan Gubernur Jawa Tengah Bibit Waluyo saat pelepasan atlet Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Nasional (Pomnas) XII Jawa Tengah yang berlangsung 14- 24 September 2011 di Batam Provinsi Kepulauan Riau, Senin (12/9) di Gedung Gubernuran.

“Gunakan waktu sebaik-baiknya. Ini sangat penting. Waktunya istirahat gunakan untuk beristirahat. Jangan malah begadang sampai larut malam sehingga ketika esok harinya main menjadi kacau balau karena kurang konsentrasi,” kata Gubernur.

Paling tidak peserta Pomnas ini sudah mempunyai nilai positif, yakni kemampuan yang potensial untuk mengembangkan jiwa sportivitas, jiwa satria. “Itulah modal yang sangat luar biasa dalam proses pertumbuhan kalian menuju kepada manusia yang tangguh,” katanya.

Prof Masrukhi, Ketua Badan Pembina Olahraga Mahasiswa Indonesia (Bapomi) Jawa Tengah mengatakan, atlet yang dikirim ke Batam berkekuatan 153 atlet dengan didampingi 36 pelatih yang berasal dari 23 perguruan tinggi negeri dan swasta. Mereka akan bertanding dalam 10 cabang olahraga, yakni bulutangkis, bola basket, renang, pencak silat, atletik, sepak takraw, bola voli, karate, futsal, dan catur. Mereka bakal bersaing dengan 33 provinsi di Indonesia.

”Kami ingin setidaknya kontingen Jawa Tengah bisa mempertahankan posisi kedua seperti pencapaian Pomnas XI di Palembang. Target tersebut optimis tercapai, karena didukung oleh 60 dari 153 atlet mahasiswa yang juga disiapkan untuk mengikuti Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) XVIII di Riau,” kata Ketua BAPOMI Jateng.
