FMIPA UNNES Adakan Konferensi Internasional di Bali

Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) dengan bangga mengadakan The 5th International Conference on Mathematics, Science, and Education di Denpasar Bali tanggal 8 sampai 9 Oktober 2018. Berbeda dari kesemoatan-kesempatan sebelumnya, konferensi internasional tahunan yang dulunya biasa diadakan di Semarang, saat ini dilaksanakan di Bali. Keputusan ini diambil untuk meningkatkan daya tarik konferensi ini bagi para pembicara dari luar negeri. Hal ini terbukti efektif karena konferensi ini berhasil menarik 313 peserta yang terdiri atas 292 peserta dalam negeri dan 20 peserta dari luar negeri. Peserta dari luar negeri berasal dari Malaysia, Jepang, Australia, United Kingdom (UK), Singapura dan Selandia Baru.

Rektor UNNES Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum mengatakan bahwa konferensi internasional FMIPA kali ini sangat spesial karena menjadi bagian dari Dies Natalis UNNES yang ke-53. Selain itu, tema konferensi Collaborative Research on Science, Mathematics, and Education: Its Application As The Development of Sustainable Resources sangat sesuai dengan visi UNNES untuk menjadi universitas berwawasan konservasi dan bereputasi internasional. Tema yang bertumpu pada sumber daya yang berkelanjutan merupakan bagian dari perwujudan usaha UNNES dalam mewujudkan wawasan konservasi yang sesungguhnya.

Kegiatan ini dibuka oleh Dr Agus Puji Prasetyono Staf Ahli Menteri Bidang Relevansi dan Produktivitas. Dr Agus menyampaikan apresiasi yang luar biasa atas terselenggaranya konferensi internasional ini. Dr Agus menyampaikan bahwa banyak bidang yang menjadi prioritas Kemenristekdikti dapat dibagi dan disempurnakan pada konferensi kali ini. Kecerdasan buatan dan big data adalah salah satu bidang yang sangat menarik bagi perkembangan bangsa di ere disrupsi.

Dekan FMIPA Prof Dr Zaenuri Mastur menyatakan bahwa panitia dengan sengaja mengundang pembicara-pembicara terbaik di bidangnya. Prof Dong Fengming dari Singapura dan Prof Dominic Reeve dari Inggris adalah pembicara utama dari luar negeri, sedangkan Prof Dr I Nengah Suparta dan Prof Dr Sutikno adalah pembicara utama dari dalam negeri.
