FISIP UNNES Tanamkan Konservasi Melalui Pembuatan Lubang Biopori

Dalam rangka mendukung capaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), khususnya Tujuan 6 (Air Bersih dan Sanitasi), Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Negeri Semarang (FISIP UNNES) melalui Gugus Konservasi bekerja sama dengan Mahasiswa Pramuka Gugus Latih 3 melaksanakan kegiatan pembuatan ratusan lubang biopori di lingkungan kampus FISIP Sekaran, Gunungpati, pada Sabtu (14/6).

Kegiatan ini merupakan wujud nyata implementasi visi UNNES sebagai universitas konservasi, sekaligus bentuk kontribusi aktif FISIP UNNES dalam pelestarian lingkungan hidup.

Dekan FISIP UNNES, Prof. Dr. Arif Purnomo, S.Pd., S.S., M.Pd., yang turut terlibat langsung dalam kegiatan tersebut, menyampaikan bahwa membuat lubang biopori merupakan aktivitas sederhana namun berdampak besar. Lubang dapat dibuat di dasar saluran, area tergenang, hingga batas taman dan paving block.

“Meski mudah dilakukan, belum semua orang memahami manfaat besar dari biopori,” ungkapnya.

Ketua pelaksana kegiatan, Rudi Salam, menjelaskan bahwa tema konservasi lingkungan dipilih karena sejalan dengan salah satu pilar utama UNNES.

“Sebelumnya sudah ada program satu mahasiswa satu pohon. Kini, kami menambahkan gerakan satu mahasiswa satu lubang biopori, untuk menjaga ketersediaan air tanah serta mengelola sampah organik menjadi kompos,” ujar Rudi.

Ketua Pramuka FISIP UNNES, Wazifun, menambahkan bahwa lubang resapan biopori adalah teknologi tepat guna yang ramah lingkungan untuk mengatasi permasalahan banjir dan kekeringan.

“Saat musim hujan, lubang biopori membantu meningkatkan daya resap air, sehingga mengurangi genangan. Sementara di musim kemarau, biopori membantu menjaga ketersediaan air tanah,” jelasnya.

Inisiatif ini tidak hanya mendukung Tujuan 6 (Air Bersih dan Sanitasi), tetapi juga mendukung Tujuan 13 (Penanganan Perubahan Iklim) dan Tujuan 15 (Menjaga Ekosistem Daratan). Melalui kegiatan ini, FISIP UNNES menegaskan komitmennya untuk mengintegrasikan aksi konservasi lingkungan dalam kehidupan kampus serta membentuk karakter mahasiswa yang peduli terhadap keberlanjutan bumi.
