Para Calon Dekan FIS Angkat Visi Internasionalisasi dan Konservasi

Tiga  calon dekan Fakultas Ilmu Sosial (FIS) periode 2011-2015 memaparkan visi dan misi, Rabu (11/8),  di gedung C7 lantai II FIS. Mereka adalah Drs Moch Arifin MSi, Drs YYFR Sunarjan MS, dan Drs Subagyo MPd.

Setiap calon diberikan waktu 15 menit untuk memaparrkan visi,misi, dan program kerja. Sidang dipimpin Prof Dr Warsino MHum dengan sekretaris Drs Sunarko MPd.

Moch Arifien dan Sunarjan bersepakat untuk menjadikan FIS sebagai fakultas bertaraf internasional. “FIS harus bertaraf internasional dengan melakukan pembenahan dari sarana dan prasarana serta sumber daya manusia yang mengikuti standar internasional,” kata Moch Arifien.

Menurutnya, untuk mewujudkan hal itu, bisa ditempuh beberapa hal. Antara lain dengan cara mengadopsi kurikulum dari luar negeri sesuai dengan karakteristik jurusan, meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa asing para pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan serta meningkatkan peran serta dosen dalam menulis jurnal. “Itu harus kita lakukan agar FIS bisa go international,” katanya.

Adapun Subagyo berfokus pada upaya menjadikan FIS sebagai fakultas konservasi untuk mendukung upaya Unnes sebagai universitas konservasi. “Mendukung Unnes sebagai universitas konservasi dengan menjadikan FIS sebagai fakultas konservasi menjadi salah satu tujuan kami. Selain itu, FIS mengupayakan untuk membuka jurusan dan atau program studi baru.Dalam waktu dekat, FIS akn memiliki jurusan ilmu politik yang akan segera disusul oleh program S1 IPS,” katanya.

Acara itu juga dihadiri Pembantu Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan Prof Dr Masrukhi MPd, mantan rektor Prof Dr AT Soegito SH MM, senat fakultas, dosen, tenaga kependidikan, mahasiswa, dan alumni FIS. Pemilihan dekan akan digelar Jumat (19/8) pukul 08.30 di tempat yang sama.
