Semarang — Tim peneliti Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Psikologi (FIPP) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) terus memperluas jejaring akademik internasional melalui pengembangan riset tentang wellbeing literacy pada anak sekolah dasar di komunitas urban marginal. Riset bertajuk Wellbeing Literacy in Urban Marginalised Primary Schools: An Ecological Mixed-Methods Study tersebut menjadi bagian dari upaya FIPP UNNES dalam memperkuat kajian pendidikan, kesejahteraan anak, dan inovasi metodologi riset yang berpusat pada suara anak.

Dalam kegiatan akademik yang berlangsung di Faculty of Education, University of Melbourne, Hasna’ Pratiwi Kuswardani berkesempatan memaparkan perkembangan riset tersebut di hadapan kolega dari Centre for Wellbeing Science (CWS). Diskusi ini juga diikuti secara daring dari Indonesia oleh Muhammad Nazil Iqdami dan Rina Nuraeni. Pertemuan tersebut menjadi ruang penting untuk berbagi gagasan, memperoleh masukan akademik, serta memperkuat kolaborasi riset lintas negara dalam bidang wellbeing science.

Riset ini berangkat dari pertanyaan mendasar: apa makna kesejahteraan apabila anak-anak diberi kesempatan untuk mendefinisikannya sendiri? Melalui pertanyaan tersebut, tim peneliti berupaya memahami bagaimana anak-anak sekolah dasar yang hidup di lingkungan urban marginal memaknai kesejahteraan, mengungkapkan emosi, mencari dukungan, serta membicarakan pengalaman hidup mereka dalam relasi dengan keluarga, sekolah, teman sebaya, dan lingkungan sosial di sekitarnya.

Salah satu kekuatan utama riset ini terletak pada pendekatan ekologis dan partisipatoris. Anak-anak tidak hanya ditempatkan sebagai objek penelitian, tetapi juga diberi ruang untuk menyampaikan pengalaman dan makna kesejahteraan melalui bahasa, ekspresi, dan cara pandang mereka sendiri. Metode yang digunakan mencakup photovoice, diskusi, dan wawancara, sehingga data yang dihasilkan diharapkan lebih dekat dengan realitas kehidupan anak serta konteks sosial-budaya yang membentuk pengalaman mereka.

Secara substantif, riset ini juga relevan dengan agenda Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Kajian tentang wellbeing literacy anak berkontribusi pada SDG 3 tentang kehidupan sehat dan sejahtera, terutama dalam upaya memahami kesehatan mental, emosi, relasi sosial, dan dukungan lingkungan bagi anak. Riset ini juga mendukung SDG 4 tentang pendidikan berkualitas karena berupaya menghasilkan pengetahuan yang dapat memperkuat lingkungan belajar yang aman, inklusif, dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan peserta didik. Fokus pada anak-anak di komunitas urban marginal turut sejalan dengan SDG 10 tentang berkurangnya kesenjangan, sebab riset ini memberi perhatian pada kelompok anak yang kerap kurang terwakili dalam pengambilan keputusan pendidikan dan kebijakan kesejahteraan.

Bagi Centre for Wellbeing Science, kunjungan dan diskusi ini menjadi contoh penting bagaimana kajian kesejahteraan dapat dikembangkan melalui hubungan kolegial antarperguruan tinggi dalam konteks budaya dan sosial yang berbeda. Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Muhammad Nazil Iqdami juga menyampaikan bahwa kolaborasi dengan CWS telah membuka peluang berharga bagi tim UNNES untuk memperkuat kapasitas riset, berbagi perspektif akademik, serta menjajaki kolaborasi lanjutan di masa mendatang. Kolaborasi ini sekaligus mencerminkan semangat SDG 17 tentang kemitraan untuk mencapai tujuan pembangunan berkelanjutan melalui pertukaran pengetahuan lintas negara, budaya, dan disiplin keilmuan.

Hubungan akademik antara tim UNNES dan CWS telah berkembang secara bertahap. Sebelumnya, Fatma Kusuma Mahanani bersama kolega dari UNNES juga berkolaborasi dengan Dr. Jacqui Francis dari CWS, salah satu editor buku Wellbeing Literacy yang baru diterbitkan, melalui kontribusi bab mengenai wellbeing literacy pada mahasiswa Jawa. Kontribusi tersebut memberikan perspektif penting mengenai bagaimana wellbeing literacy dipahami, diungkapkan, dan dipraktikkan dalam konteks sosial-budaya Indonesia.

Melalui kegiatan ini, FIPP UNNES menegaskan komitmennya untuk mengembangkan riset pendidikan yang berdampak, kontekstual, dan berorientasi pada kesejahteraan peserta didik. Kolaborasi dengan University of Melbourne diharapkan dapat terus memperkuat pertukaran pengetahuan lintas negara, budaya, dan disiplin keilmuan, sekaligus mendukung pengembangan riset-riset inovatif yang berpihak pada anak, komunitas marginal, dan agenda pembangunan berkelanjutan.
