UNNES Psychology – On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the Psychology Program at UNNES held another guest lecture featuring a real-world professional. The event was titled “Be A Master in Recruitment and Selection: Learn and Practice with Professional” and aimed to provide students with practical insights into the recruitment and selection process.

During the lecture, the speaker explained each step in the recruitment process — from pre-advertising (like job analysis and position evaluation), to job advertising (how to write an effective and attractive job posting), to selection stages such as aptitude tests, group discussions, interviews, and psychological testing. He also explained the onboarding process, which includes signing work agreements, training sessions, and registering for social security (BPJS).
In addition, the speaker introduced the concept of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as a way to evaluate employee performance, and gave tips on how recruiters assess candidates based on personality, skills, and work experience.
“It was exciting to learn directly from a professional. We got a lot of useful information and a clear picture of how things really work in the field,” said Najwa Haq Filhal, one of the participants.
This guest lecture helped students not only understand the theory behind recruitment and selection, but also how it is practiced in real work settings. With this knowledge, UNNES Psychology students are expected to be more confident and prepared to face the professional world.
