1,000 FIPP UNNES Students Take the Microsoft Office International Competency Certification Exam
Semarang, August 27, 2025 — A total of 1,000 students from the Faculty of Education and Psychology (FIPP) of Semarang State University (UNNES) participated in the Microsoft Office International Competency Certification Exam in 2025. This activity is part of an effort to strengthen students’ digital competencies to support academic needs while preparing graduates to face the competitive world of work.
The certification exam was conducted using computer facilities in the laboratory. Based on the activity documentation, the students took the exam in a structured manner using their respective computers. This exam provided an opportunity for students to measure and prove their competence in using Microsoft Office applications.
Mastery of Microsoft Office is one of the digital skills needed in various fields of work. The ability to process documents, data, and presentations effectively can support productivity and support the completion of academic and professional tasks. Through competency certification, students are expected to receive recognition for their digital skills so that they can increase their competitiveness after graduation.
This activity supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by strengthening students’ skills and competencies. In addition, this activity is relevant to SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth because mastery of digital skills can help improve graduates’ job readiness. The implementation of technology-based exams also relates to SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through the use of digital technology in developing human resource competencies.
Through this certification program, FIPP UNNES continues to strive to equip students with skills relevant to technological developments and the needs of the professional world. It is hoped that student participation in the Microsoft Office certification exam will strengthen digital competencies, increase readiness to enter the workforce, and support the development of human resources that are adaptive to digital transformation.
