Wuhan, China – October 30, 2024. In order to strengthen international collaboration and support educational innovation, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) held a Visiting Researcher and Guest Lecture program at Central China Normal University (CCNU), Wuhan, China, on October 30, 2024. This event was part of a joint research initiative between UNNES and CCNU focused on developing a cybercounseling mobile application system to facilitate academic and personal achievements for students.
The Visiting Researcher program was led by Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., and Yuli Kurniawati, S.Psi., M.A., D.Sc., both of whom have extensive experience in educational technology development and educational psychology. The CCNU research team included Prof. Jianzhong Janne Hong and Prof. Weijun Wang, two experts from the School of Psychology, CCNU, who provided theoretical and practical guidance on the psychological aspects of the cybercounseling application for students and early childhood cybercounseling, particularly for children facing the school environment adaptation phase.
During the event, both research teams discussed the development of cybercounseling. The research led by Farid Ahmadi, S.Kom., M.Kom., Ph.D., focused on an application named MotipUNNES, designed to assist students in achieving academic success and personal growth through a Solution-Focused Brief Counseling (SFBC) approach. This application features tools such as registration, questionnaires, video recommendations, and a discussion platform to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals. Meanwhile, Yuli Kurniawati, S.Psi., M.A., D.Sc., presented her research on the development of reading materials that analyze young children’s expressions, supported by an audiovisual storybook.
In their presentations, Farid Ahmadi and Yuli Kurniawati highlighted the benefits of this application, which is expected to be applicable across various educational institutions. Prof. Jianzhong Janne Hong and Prof. Weijun Wang also provided psychological insights into the development of this mobile-based application, relevant in the context of education in the digital era. This collaboration is expected to strengthen the academic relationship between UNNES and CCNU and contribute to the advancement of learning technology and digital-based counseling services to enhance global educational quality.
