FIP UNNES Adakan Visiting Lecturer dengan Kasetsart University dan SMP Negeri 16 Semarang, Bentuk Pengabdian Bidang Pendidikan

Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Semarang (FIP UNNES) gelar Visiting Lecturer dengan topik “Engaging Indonesian and Thailand Students Literacy through Online English Learning” dengan menggandeng Kasetsart University sebagai partner berkolaborasi.

Visiting Lecturer ini diikuti kurang lebih 500 peserta yang terdiri dari 2 Negara yakni siswa SMP Negeri 16 Semarang dan Siswa Labschool Kasetsart University Thailand yang dilakukan secara online melalui platform zoom meeting dan YouTube.

“Kegiatan ini dilakukan sebagai bentuk pengabdian dan dedikasi kami terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan dan pembelajaran di 2 Negara. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini akan menambah pengalaman khususnya anak-anak SMP untuk meningkatkan literasi kritis contohnya pada bidang Bahasa Inggris dengan metode yang tidak biasa,” jelas Farid Ahmadi MPd PhD selaku ketua penyelenggara sekaligus narasaumber dalam kegiatan tersebut.

Visiting Lecturer ini merupakan kolaborasi antara FIP UNNES dengan Kasetsart University, menghadirkan narasumber Kepala Sekolah SMP 16 Semarang Purnami Subadiyah SPd MPd, Suphinya Panyasi PhD, Dr Theerasak Soykereeree, Leroy Head dari Kasetsart University Thailand, Farid Ahmadi MPd PhD,Intan permata hapsari MPd dan Nurlestari, SPd dari SMP 16 Semarang.

Kegiatan Visiting Lecturer berjalan dengan asik dan ceria. Para siswa baik dari Indonesia maupun Thailand, dimana selain paparan diskusi terbuka bersama anak-anak juga terdapat games yang seru dan menstimulus partisipasi para siswa dari 2 Negara.

“Kegiatannya seru sih bisa belajar banyak dari guru Lee sama Ibu dan Bapak guru yang lain juga dari Indonesia sama Thailand, jadi punya pengalaman” Tutur Bagas salah satu siswa SMP Negeri 16 Semarang.

Materi yang dibawakan sangat beragam diantaranya tentang “How to Stimulate Student in Developing Critical Literacy” dimana anak-anak diberikan gambaran tentang kekhasan Thailand dan Indonesia kemudian mereka aktif berdiskusi dan mencari tahu tentang hal-hal menarik baik di Indonesia maupun Thailand. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah materi para pembicara dan sertifikat peserta yang mengikuti kegiatan.
