Organization Structure

The organizational structure of the UNNES Faculty of Law refers to Government Regulation Number 36 of 2022 concerning State Universities, Semarang State University Legal Entities. The organizational structure at the Faculty of Law  UNNES is hierarchical as can be seen in the chart below (Organizational Structure Chart of the Faculty of Law UNNES), showing that the management of the faculty is carried out by the Dean and at the section level, the section head coordinates the implementation of duties in managing the section.

In matters of a substantial and fundamental nature concerning the development of faculties, departments and study programs, the Dean always consults with the Faculty Senate. In general, decision making or academic and student policy making is carried out centrally, that is, referring to policies at the top level. However, in its implementation, departments and study programs are given autonomy to design and carry out academic activities in accordance with their authority under faculty coordination. In this regard, apart from being the main person responsible who plays a major role in strategic policy making, the faculty leader (Dean) also plays a role as a director and partner for all of the above organizational components.

Thus, the work division mechanism implemented is a form of implementation of decentralization or delegation of authority from faculty leaders to lower officials who assist the Dean in carrying out tasks based on the principles of democratic faculty governance.

Faculty management prioritizes functional coordination with awareness of the existence of quite close links between faculty components based on their respective main tasks and  functions. This coordination is carried out both formally (through coordination meetings) and informally, for example by monitoring departments. So far, this coordination model has been able to support the achievement of synchronized implementation of tasks, so that faculty management can run well.
In carrying out the coordination of the tasks above, obstacles that often arise are related to communication and information problems, as well as procedures/work procedures which are sometimes not fully understood by some parties. Therefore, coordination forums are more effective, supported by improvements in work procedures and open and multi-directional information distribution.
