FBS Menghadirkan 6 Pembicara Luar Negeri

Dalam rangka bulan Bahasa dan Seni, Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes)  akan mengadakan seminar internasional tahunan yang ke-2.  Seminar yang bertajuk International Conference on English Language Teaching, Literature, and Translation (ELTLT) diselenggarakan oleh Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris FBS Unnes.  Untuk tahun ke-2 ini, seminar tersebut diberi tema “Issues and Challenges in English Language Teaching, Literature, and Translation” di Hotel Grasia tanggal 28-29 September 2013.

Perhelatan akademis ini akan menghadirkan Helena IR Agustien PhD sebagai keynote speaker  dan enam pembicara lain dari luar negeri.  Mereka adalah Dr Kimberly Bunts-Anderson (Uni Emirat Arab), Dr Khairi Al-Zubaidi (Malaysia), Erica Balazs (AS), Kari Dickinson (Skotlandia, UK), Leilani Fatimah Ledesma Trompeta (Filipina), Prof Cameron K Richards (Malaysia), dan Ass Prof Pam Allen (Australia).

Ketua Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris, Issy Yuliasri, mengatakan bahwa seminar tahunan ini terselenggara atas kerja sama dengan AWEJ (Arab World English Journal) dan RELO (Regional English Language Office, Kedutaan Besar Amerika).

“Dengan kerja sama yang baik antara UNNES dan AWEJ  dalam penyelenggaraan seminar ini, 10-12 makalah terbaik dari seminar ini akan diterbitkan dalam jurnal AWEJ, dan selebihnya akan dibuat dalam proceedings cetakan,” tambahnya.

Seminar ini diperuntukkan bagi guru, dosen, mahasiswa, dan umum yang berminat dalam bidang pengajaran Bahasa Inggris, Sastra Inggris, dan Penerjemahan.

“Ini tentu menjadi daya dorong bagi peserta seminar, termasuk dosen UNNES, untuk menulis makalah yang baik agar dapat lolos masuk jurnal,” tandasnya.

Dalam seminar ini akan ada sesi pleno (plenary sessions) dan sesi paralel (parallel sessions).  Bagi yang ingin berpartisipasi sebagai pembicara dalam sesi paralel, masih dimungkinkan untuk mengirimkan abstrak maksimal 250 kata, dengan biodata lebih kurang 50 kata dan dialamatkan kepada panitia (email: [email protected]), sedangkan yang ingin mendaftar sebagai peserta biasa dapat menghubungi alamat email di atas atau menghubungi sekretaris panitia, Arif Suryo Priyatmojo, di nomor HP 085640975213.
