Besok, Tiga Profesor FMIPA Dikukuhkan

Tiga dosen Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan (FMIPA) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) akan dikukuhkan sebagai profesor, Kamis (20/3), di auditorium kampus Sekaran. Mereka adalah Prof Dr Ir Priyantini Widiyaningrum MS, Prof Dr Susilo MS, dan Prof Dr Kartono.

Didahului dengan orasi ilmiah, ketiganya akan dikukuhkan dalam rapat senat terbuka yang dipimpin Rektor Prof Dr Fathur Rokhman MHum.

Prof Kartono bakal membawakan orasi “Rehabilitasi Citra Karakteristik Afektif untuk Pembelajaran Matematika melalui Asesmen”. Dosen Matematika ini mengangkat masalah dengan berangkat dari ungkapan seperti “Matematika itu susah, matematika membikin pusing kepala, matematika banyak rumus, guru matematika biasanya galak, menakutkan, dan seterusnya.”

Kepada guru atau yang mengajar matematika, lelaki kelahiran Purwodadi, 22 Februari 1956 ini menyarankan untuk mengontrol kondisi afektif siswa melalui asesmen karakteristik afektif secara periodik. “Kemudian lakukan improvisasi kegiatan pembelajaran berbasis hasil asesmen afektif,” kata lulusan S3 Penelitian dan Evaluasi Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) ini.

Prof Priyantini, yang lahir di Bantul Yogyakarta 19 April 1960, akan membawakan orasi “Ekofisiologi Hewan dalam Ilmu Terapan: Kajian pada Budi Daya Ulat Sutera Bombyx mori L”. Lewat topik ini, dia mengaku ingin menggarisbawahi dan menunjukkan kajian ilmu ekofisiologi hewan yang notabene bagian dari rumpun ilmu dasar, berperan langsung dalam ilmu terapan.

“Dari kajian ekofisiologi dalam perkembangan budi daya ulat sutera, saya melihat interaksi ekologi, fisiologi dan lingkungan klimat sangat berperan dalam strategi budi daya satwa yang berkelanjutan. Variasi kondisi lingkungan dari hari ke hari yang semakin fluktuatif sebagai dampak pemanasan global, menekankan pentingnya pengelolaan faktor-faktor lingkungan untuk menjaga kestabilan produksi,” ungkap dosen Jurusan Biologi ini.

Adapun Prof Susilo mengangkat topik “Sistem Pencitraan Sinar-X Digital sebagai Tren Menuju Sistem Radiografi Ramah Lingkungan”. “Judul ini saya pilih sebagai refleksi perjalanan karier saya dalam menimba ilmu, menggali pengalaman, dan mendiseminasikannya agar bermanfaat bagi masyarakat,” ujar lelaki kelahiran Blora, 1 Agustus 1952 ini.

Profesor bidang fisika medik ini memang telah lama mengembangkan rancang bangun dan implementasi sistem radiologi digital melalui berbagai riset. Sejak 2007, dosen Jurusan Fisika ini telah mengujicobakannya mulai dari penelitian Hibah Bersaing Dikti, Insentif Riset terapan KMNRT, Hibah Strategis Nasional Dikti, Unggulan Dikti, hingga DIPA Unnes.
