Empat Pakar dari Tiga Negara Bahas Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini di Era Digital

 

Perkembangan dunia digital tak hanya memberi kemudahan, malah kadang membuat gap antara orangtua dan anak. Tak jarang berakhir dengan anak yang membangkang atau masalah lainnya.

Membesarkan anak di zaman millenial butuh usaha ekstra dibanding puluhan tahun yang lalu. Teknologi pada anak usia dini dapat menjadi prospek dan tantangan, peluang dan ancaman terhadap dunia baru yaitu dunia era digital. Perlu kiranya kita sebagai orang tua, guru, aktivis, pengambil kebijakan, masyarakat untuk turut serta memperhatikan kondisi anak di era digital.

Untuk itu Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas NegeriSemarang (FIP UNNES) mendatangkan empat pakar dari tiga negara menyelenggarakan International Conference dengan tema Growing Up Digitally: Early Childhood Education and the Digitized World selama dua hari Rabu-Kamis (8-9 Agustus) di Hotel Santika Semarang.

Empat pembicara utama yakni Professor Sue Greishaber dari La Trobe University Australia, Professor Nicola Yelland (Flinders University Australia), Wendy Rich-Orloff (UNICEF) dan Ali Formen (PGPAUD UNNES).

Semarang Early Childhood Research and Education Talks (SECRET) ini untuk keempat kalinya, diselenggarakan oleh jurusan Pendidikan Guru Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (PGPAUD) FIP UNNES.

Konferensi internasional  yang digelar tiap dua tahun ini,  untuk membahas isu-isu tebaru serta riset di berbagai bidang serta pendekatan tentang dunia anak usia dini, kata ketua panitia Akaat Hasjiandito disela-sela konferensi. Kegiatan di buka oleh Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik Prof Rustono.

“Tahun ini, kita mengangkat tema ‘Growing Up Digitally, Early Childhood Education and The Digitized World’, atau pendidikan anak usia dini ditengah perkembangan dunia digital. Sebab saat ini, tidak dapat dipungkiri bahwa rata-rata anak sudah mengenal internet, gadget sejak dini,” tuturnya.

Akaat menjelaskan, tema tersebut dipilih karena teknologi yang saat ini berkembang pesat sudah tidak asing bagi anak usia dini. “Teknologi pada anak usia dini, dapat menjadi prospek dan tantangan, peluang dan ancaman terhadap dunia baru yaitu dunia era digital. untuk itu sangat diperlukan kiranya kita sebagai orang tua, guru, aktivis, pengambil kebijakan, masyarakat untuk turut serta memperhatikan kondisi anak di era digital.

Akaat menegaskan, SECRET 2018 ini, merupakan wadah untuk berbagi informasi, berdiskusi dan berpikir tentang kebutuhan anak di era digital.

Dalam kegiatan ini lanjut Akaat, diikuti 250 peserta, termasuk didalamnya sebagai pemakalah sebanyak 94 orang. “Selain konferensi, juga digelar paparan makalah dari pemakalah. Nantinya materi yang terpilih, akan kita publikasi ke jurnal internasional atau prosiding terindeks Thomson. Sementara, yang lainnya, akan kita terbitkan melalui jurnal nasional milik prodi PGPAUD UNNES.
