Dukung Pendidikan Inklusif, DKV UNNES Berkontribusi dalam Simposium Internasional

Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV) Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) turut berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan Symposium of Art, Design and Literacy for Inclusive Education 2025 yang diinisiasi oleh Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) pada Sabtu, (12/7/25). Kegiatan yang mengangkat tema “Menciptakan Ruang Kreatif Inklusif” ini melibatkan akademisi, praktisi, dan peneliti dari berbagai negara di Asia, seperti Indonesia, Singapura, dan Malaysia.

Simposium bertujuan untuk memperkuat diskusi mengenai peran seni, desain, dan literasi dalam menciptakan pendidikan yang inklusif, khususnya bagi anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus seperti autisme, low-vision, down syndrome, dan lainnya. Keikutsertaan DKV UNNES menjadi salah satu luaran dari kerja sama yang telah terjalin antara DKV UNNES dan DKV ITB dalam program Pengembangan Media Edukasi Interaktif untuk Anak Autis Usia Dini yang dilaksanakan pada tahun sebelumnya.

Berlokasi di Gedung Center for Arts, Design, and Language (CADL) ITB, kegiatan ini dibuka secara resmi oleh Bunda Duta Literasi, Ibu Aryarti Benarto. Acara juga menghadirkan tiga pembicara kunci, yaitu Prof. Endang Rochyadi, M.Pd. (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia), Dr. Eunice Tan (Singapore University of Social Science), dan Dr. Riama Maslan Sihombing (ITB).

Simposium RKI 2025 tidak hanya menghadirkan sesi presentasi makalah, tetapi juga diskusi panel, sesi poster, pameran karya, serta konser penutup. Hasil dari simposium ini akan diterbitkan dalam bentuk prosiding ilmiah bereputasi internasional yang dapat memperkaya khazanah akademik dan praktik pendidikan inklusif di kawasan Asia.

Dalam sesi paralel bertajuk Desain Buku Anak Inklusif yang Mudah Diakses, Rahina Nugrahani dari DKV UNNES mempresentasikan hasil penelitiannya berjudul “Fostering Student Awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder through the Creation of Visual Communication”. Karya ini menekankan pentingnya komunikasi visual sebagai sarana edukatif yang mampu meningkatkan kesadaran remaja terhadap spektrum autisme melalui pendekatan desain yang inklusif dan empatik.

Selain Rahina Nugrahani, terdapat lima pemateri lain yang menampilkan inovasi desain untuk anak berkebutuhan khusus, di antaranya Nuriana Sekarlintang dengan Perancangan Tactile Picture Book untuk Siswa Tunanetra di Sekolah Dasar, Arum Githa Putri dengan AR-Integrated Storybook for Pre-adolescent Girls, Diani Apsari dengan Perancangan Ilustrasi Inklusif dalam Buku Cerita Anak, dan Palupi Argani dengan penelitian Narasi Sirah Nabawiyah dalam Edukasi Anak Autis.

Keikutsertaan DKV UNNES dalam forum internasional ini merupakan bentuk kontribusi aktif dalam pengembangan media pembelajaran berbasis seni dan desain untuk mendukung pendidikan inklusif. Selain itu, kegiatan ini menjadi sarana strategis untuk memperluas jejaring akademik serta mendorong kolaborasi riset lintas negara di bidang seni, desain, dan literasi.
