DPM KM UNNES Selenggarakan Legislative Debate Competition 2021

Legislative Debate Competition (LDC) merupakan kegiatan tahunan lomba debat akademik yang diselenggarakan oleh DPM KM UNNES secara daring. Kegiatan ini terbuka bagi mahasiswa seluruh Indonesia yang mendaftarkan diri secara beregu yang mana terdiri dari tiga mahasiswa dari kampus yang sama. Setelah melalui proses seleksi essai, terpilih lima tim debat dari berbagai kampus, diantaranya yakni dari UGM, UB, UNRI, UNMUL, dan UNDIP.

Kegiatan LDC 2021 dibuka pada Sabtu (31/7) oleh Koordinator Pembina Lembaga Kemahasiswaan UNNES, Dr Wirawan Sumbodo MPd yang dilanjutkan dengan perlombaan debat tahap semi-final. Giri Harto Wiratomo MHum dan Erisandi Arditama MA sebagai pembina DPM KM turut mendampingi kegiatan tersebut. Dari hasil pertandingan kemarin, dewan juri memutuskan tiga tim dengan poin tertinggi, yaitu UNRI, UGM, dan UB berhak bertanding pada tahap final yang diselenggarakan pada Minggu (1/8).

Pertandingan pada babak final dibagi ke dalam tiga sesi, yakni Pertandingan 1 Tim UNRI melawan Tim UB, Pertandingan 2 Tim UGM melawan Tim UNRI, dan Pertandingan 3 Tim UB melawan Tim UGM. Setelah melewati masa pertandingan dan penjurian, Tim UB berhasil memenangkan LDC 2021 dengan skor 1910, di posisi kedua disusul oleh Tim UGM dengan skor 1860, dan sebagai juara ketiga yakni Tim UNRI dengan skor 1826. Dengan demikian, penganugrahan juara sebagai tanda berakhirnya kegiatan LDC 2021.

Febrian Yudha Tama, Ketua DPM KM UNNES menyatakan harapannya bahwa mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan daya kritik terhadap permasalahan sekitar dengan mengikuti kegiatan ini. “Harapannya kegiatan ini mampu mendorong mahasiswa untuk dapat meningkatkan daya kritik dan rasa empati, sehingga nantinya dapat dihasilkan kritik-kritik yang membangun dan solusi yang tepat terhadap permasalahan yang ada.” terang Yudha.

Dr Wirawan Sumbodo dalam sambutannya juga menyampaikan pentingnya bagi mahasiswa untuk memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritik dan pemecahan masalah untuk kemajuan bangsa dan negara “Kegiatan ini bagus untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah, sudah saatnya bagi para pemuda ini nantinya dapat mengisi kursi-kursi di parlemen sehingga dapat membantu dalam pengambilan kebijakan.” tegas Wirawan.
