Dosen UNNES Kaji Peran Komunitas Seni dalam Revitalisasi Bahasa Jawa

Di balik lantunan gamelan dan keluwesan gerak wayang kulit, tersembunyi peluang besar untuk menyelamatkan bahasa Jawa yang kini terancam punah. Sebuah penelitian terbaru, dilansir dari International Journal of Multilingualism, memperlihatkan betapa komunitas seni tradisional dapat menjadi wahana efektif untuk membangkitkan kembali kesadaran kritis terhadap bahasa Jawa .

Studi yang diketuai Dr Dhoni Zustiyantoro, dosen Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni Universitas Negeri Semarang ini menyoroti bagaimana seni lokal mempengaruhi kemampuan linguistik dan nilai budaya.

Lebih dari sekadar angka, hasil riset membawa pesan dalam: seni tradisional bukan hanya media pertunjukan, tetapi juga wadah pembelajaran bahasa dan budaya secara organik. Para peneliti menegaskan bahwa siswa calon guru dengan kesadaran kritis tinggi terhadap struktur dan budaya bahasa Jawa lebih siap merancang pembelajaran yang kaya konteks lokal.

Temuan ini mempunyai implikasi strategis terkait agenda pembangunan berkelanjutan (SDGs). Pertama, selaras dengan SDG 4 – Pendidikan Berkualitas, riset menekankan pentingnya pembelajaran yang berakar pada kekayaan budaya lokal untuk melahirkan tenaga pengajar yang sensitif linguistik dan kultural.

Kedua, sejalan dengan SDG 11 – Komunitas Berkelanjutan, revitalisasi bahasa Jawa melalui seni tradisi memperkukuh identitas budaya dan keterikatan sosial di komunitas. Ketiga, relevan dengan SDG 16 – Perdamaian, Keadilan, dan Kelembagaan yang Tangguh, karena penguatan bahasa dan budaya lokal memperkokoh kohesi sosial dan meneguhkan pengakuan terhadap warisan budaya sebagai bagian dari identitas nasional.

Dengan berbasis pada seni pertunjukan lokal, seperti kentrung, wayang, atau karawitan, pendekatan ini menunjukkan betapa bahasa Jawa dapat bangkit dari keterancaman, dipulihkan melalui tempat-tempat pertunjukan tradisional yang kini beralih fungsi menjadi ruang pendidikan masyarakat.

Seiring upaya global mempertahankan keragaman budaya, penelitian ini menjadi inspirasi nyata bahwa pelestarian bahasa dapat dimulai dari akar, melalui partisipasi aktif masyarakat berbasis seni dan budaya. Dengan demikian, bahasa Jawa memiliki harapan baru untuk tetap lestari, menyatu dalam tiap denting gamelan dan lontaran puisi di panggung tradisional nusantara.
