Dosen Unnes, Berkaryalah bagi Indonesia

Rektor Unnes Prof Fathur Rokhman mendorong dosen terus berkarya. Bagi profesor sosiolinguistik ini, karya dosen tidak terbatas pada karya yang didedikasikan bagi lembaga. Ia justru berharap dosen berkarya untuk Indonesia dan lebih luas lagi untuk masyarakat dunia.

“Saudara ingin berkarya untuk memajukan pendidikan di Unnes atau berkarya untuk memajukan pendidikan di Indonesia? Bagi saya, pilihan kedua lebih baik. Jika Annda berkarya bagi Indonesia otomatis berkarya bagi Unnes,” katanya dalama diskusi dengan sivitas akademika Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan (FIK), Selasa (2/7).

Saran itu disampaikan Rektor karena sejumlah dosen Unnes ternyata memiliki keahlian yang diperlukan masyarakat luas Gagasan, ide, dan keahlian mereka diperlukan pemerintah, organisasi kemasyarakatan, hingga organisasi profesi.

“Jangan membatasi diri dengan mengabdi di lembaga. Berkaryalah agar karya Anda dinikmati dunia. Asal Anda tidak melalaikan tugas utama Anda,” kata Rektor.

Dorongan itu disambut baik dosen dan karyawan FIK. Uen Hertiwan, dosen Jurusan Pendidikan Jasmani Kesehatan dan Rekreasi (PJKR) mengungkapkan, sebagai akademisi di bidang olahraga kesempatan para dosen berkiprah di luar sangat banyak. Tidak hanya di aosiasi cabang olahraga, ruang berkarya juga banyak tersedia di asosiasi profesi.

“Kiprah dosen di luar justru yang membuktikan eksisteni lembaga ini. Saya kira kesempatan ini akan membuat kami bisa terus mengembangkan diri,” katanya.

Diskusi Rektor bersama sivitas akademika digelar untuk menyingkronkan program universitas dan fakultas. Selain itu, Rektor ingin mendengar aspirasi dosen dan karyawan sebagai bahan pertimbangan dalam menyusun dan menetapkan kebijakan. Diskusi serupa telah di gelar di FIP, FBS, FMIPA, FIS, FE, dan FH.
