Dosen Seni Rupa Dewa Made Karthadinata Berpulang

Dosen Jurusan Seni Rupa Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni (FBS) Dewa Made Kartadhinata meninggal dunia, Kamis (7/8). Pria berperawakan tinggi besar ini menghembuskan nafas terakhir sekitar pukul 10.00 WIB karena sakit jantung.

Jenazah disemayamkan di kediaman, Jalan Dewi Sartika Raya 33 Sampangan, Gajahmungkur. Tampak puluhan rekan kerja dan mahasiswa berkunjung untuk menyampaikan penghormatan terakhir.

Ketua Jurusan Seni Rupa Drs Syafii MPd mengabarkan, Dewa Made sempat dirawat di Rumah Sakit dr Kariadi tiga pekan lalu. Setelah kondisinya membaik, beliau pulang dan sudah beraktivitas seperti biasa.

“Menurut rencana, beliau akan dikremasi besok di Krematorium Kedungmundu, Semarang,” katanya.

Dewa Made Karthadinata lahir di Nusa Penida, Bali, 18 November 1951. Ia menempuh pendidikan dasar dan pendidikan menengah pertama di kampung halamannya, Nusa Penida. Ia kemudian melanjutkan sekolah menengah atas di Sekolah Seni Rupa Indonesia (SSRI) di Denpasar, Bali pada jurusan seni patung.

Lulus dari SSRI, ia melanjutan pendidikan sarjana muda dan sarjana di Sekolah Tinggi Seni Rupa “ASRI” Yogyakarta. Setelah bergabung menjadi staf pengajar IKIP Semarang pada 1984, ia melanjutkan pendidikan pada program studi manajemen pendidikan Universitas Negeri Semarang.

Selain akademisi, Dewa Made dikenal sebagai pematung. Sejumlah karyanya dapat disaksikan hingga kini di Taman Budaya Raden Saleh.

Ia juga dikenal dekat dengan mahasiswa. Pasalnya, ia pernah mendapat amanat sebagai Pembantu Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan FBS pada 2007 hingga 2011.

“Beliau sosok bapak yang teramat bijak, sahabat yang sangat perhatian, seniman yang penuh kreativitas, dan dosen yang menginspirasi,” kenang Kunto Nurcahyoko, alumni Jurusan Bahasa Inggris yang juga mantan Ketua BEM FBS, melalui jejaring sosial.
