Dorong UMKM Desa Mluweh, Mahasiswa UNNES Hadirkan Inovasi Sirup Jagung ZeaSweetHydro

Mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) GIAT 12 Desa Mluweh memperkenalkan inovasi produk olahan jagung berupa sirup manis bernama ZeaSweetHydro kepada para pelaku UMKM di Desa Mluweh, Kecamatan Ungaran Timur, Kabupaten Semarang. Kegiatan ini diwujudkan melalui workshop yang berlangsung di kediaman perangkat desa, Ifa Kurniawati, pada Minggu (20/07/2025) dengan diikuti warga dari berbagai kelompok usaha rumahan.

Mengusung tema “Inovasi Manis Sirup ZeaSweetHydro dari Jagung Desa Mluweh”, kegiatan ini bertujuan memberdayakan masyarakat melalui pelatihan praktis. Para peserta diajak mempraktikkan pembuatan sirup mulai dari ekstraksi sari jagung hingga tahap akhir pengemasan sederhana yang higienis dan menarik.

Ammara Syifa Yuniar, mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi UNNES yang turut menjadi pemateri, menekankan bahwa workshop ini tidak sekadar mengajarkan teknik pembuatan produk, tetapi juga membuka wawasan tentang potensi hasil tani lokal yang belum tergarap optimal.

“Selama ini, jagung manis di Desa Mluweh hanya dikonsumsi dalam bentuk olahan sederhana. Padahal, dengan inovasi yang tepat, jagung bisa menjadi produk bernilai jual tinggi,” jelas Ammara.

Dari sisi teknis, Galuh Aninditya, mahasiswa Teknik Kimia UNNES, menguraikan pentingnya proses hidrolisis dalam produksi sirup jagung. Ia menerangkan bagaimana proses pemanasan dan penyaringan mempengaruhi kejernihan serta daya simpan produk.

“Dengan metode hidrolisis, pati dalam jagung terurai menjadi gula alami, menciptakan rasa manis seimbang yang khas dari ZeaSweetHydro,” ungkapnya.

Ketua UNNES GIAT 12 Desa Mluweh, Ilham Afrisal, menegaskan bahwa pelatihan ini merupakan langkah konkret dalam mendorong kemandirian UMKM berbasis potensi lokal.

“Kami berharap ZeaSweetHydro menjadi produk unggulan Desa Mluweh, sekaligus membuka peluang ekonomi baru bagi pelaku usaha kecil,” ujarnya.

Kegiatan berlangsung dengan suasana akrab dan penuh antusiasme. Para peserta tak hanya belajar membuat sirup, tetapi juga mencicipi hasil olahan sirup jagung yang disajikan dalam bentuk es buah segar. Respons positif datang dari Bu, anggota UMKM Dusun Kalilateng Timur, yang mengaku tertarik memasarkan produk ini. “Kalau dikemas menarik, produk ini bisa jadi oleh-oleh khas Mluweh yang dijual di warung atau online,” tuturnya.

Melalui program ini, mahasiswa UNNES GIAT 12 Desa Mluweh berharap ZeaSweetHydro dapat menjadi cikal bakal produk lokal yang mampu bersaing di pasar, sekaligus memperkuat kolaborasi antara dunia akademik dan masyarakat. Inovasi sederhana ini diharapkan menjadi pemantik lahirnya produk-produk kreatif lain dari Desa Mluweh, sebagai bagian dari upaya pemberdayaan yang berkelanjutan.
