Dorong Pelestarian Lingkungan, UNNES dan Djarum Foundation Siap Tanam 3.500 pohon

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) bersama Djarum Foundation bersiap untuk menjalankan program penanaman pohon massal sebagai upaya konkret dalam melestarikan lingkungan. Dengan semangat keberlanjutan, keduanya berkolaborasi untuk menanam 3.500 pohon di sejumlah lokasi strategis, Selasa (14/11).

Program penanaman pohon ini akan melibatkan 3.500 mahasiswa baru UNNES, serta tim dari Bakti Lingkungan Djarum Foundation. Penanaman dilakukan di daerah Nyai Ketrik dan sekitar area Gunung Ledek, Kelurahan Sekaran, Kecamatan Gunungpati, Kota Semarang.

3.500 mahasiswa tersebut berasal dari sembilan fakultas, yakni 408 Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Psikologi, 494 Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni, 359 Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, 448 Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, 498 Fakultas Teknik, 227 Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan, 576 Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis, 284 Fakultas Hukum, dan 206 Fakultas Kedokteran.

Bibit yang ditanam meliputi Alpukat Aligator, Alpukat Kendil, Alpukat Miki Cipedak, Mangga Arummanis, Mangga Manalagi, dan Mangga Kiojay, Durian Kromo Banyumas, Durian Musangking Hortimart, Durian Otong, Petai, dan Rambutan Rapiah.

Selain menanam pohon, program ini juga mencakup kegiatan edukasi lingkungan bagi mahasiswa. Mahasiswa UNNES akan terlibat dalam penyuluhan dan workshop tentang pentingnya menjaga keberlanjutan lingkungan hidup.

Kegiatan penanaman pohon dijadwalkan akan dimulai sejak tanggal 25 hingga 26 November 2023 dengan serangkaian acara pembukaan. UNNES dan Djarum Foundation berharap program ini dapat menjadi inspirasi bagi lembaga-lembaga lain untuk turut serta aktif dalam menjaga kelestarian lingkungan.

Kerjasama ini diharapkan bahwa penanaman 3.500 pohon akan memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan kualitas udara, menjaga keanekaragaman hayati, dan memberikan manfaat jangka panjang bagi lingkungan sekitar.
