Culinary Flipmath, Inovasi Mahasiswa UNNES Melalui Flipbook Aritmatika Sosial

Matematika sering kali dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang sulit oleh banyak siswa, sehingga minat untuk mempelajarinya pun cenderung rendah. Menanggapi hal ini, diperlukan inovasi yang bisa membuat matematika lebih menarik dan relevan bagi para siswa. Salah satu pendekatan yang menarik adalah Etnomatematika, yaitu metode yang menghubungkan konsep matematika dengan budaya lokal untuk membantu meningkatkan pemahaman dan minat siswa.

Mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) menghadirkan inovasi bernama Culinary Flipmath, sebuah bahan ajar berbentuk flipbook yang menggabungkan konsep aritmatika sosial dengan kuliner khas Kabupaten Temanggung. Culinary Flipmath juga dilengkapi model pembelajaran Numbered Head Together untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan metode ini, siswa mendapatkan konteks nyata dalam memahami matematika, sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik dan mudah dipahami.

Penelitian untuk mengembangkan Culinary Flipmath dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Parakan, Kabupaten Temanggung, Jawa Tengah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji kelayakan, keterbacaan, serta respon siswa terhadap inovasi yang dikembangkan. 

Culinary Flipmath menyajikan materi aritmatika sosial dengan mengaitkan beberapa kuliner khas Temanggung, seperti entho cotot, gamblong, dan ndas borok. Konsep ini mengajarkan siswa tentang perhitungan harga, keuntungan, kerugian, dan diskon dalam konteks budaya lokal. Selain memahami materi matematika, siswa juga diajak untuk mengenal dan melestarikan kearifan lokal yang ada.

Tim Culinary Flipmath terdiri dari Siwi Nafisah Faida, Reygina Hilda Wiratama, Jihan Nurul Karimah.

Mereka dibimbing langsung oleh Bapak Adi Satrio Ardiansyah, S.Pd., M.Pd.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Culinary Flipmath sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran, mudah dipahami oleh siswa, dan mendapatkan respon positif. Inovasi produk Culinary Flipmath: Kuliner Temanggung dalam Aritmatika Sosial diharapkan dapat menjadi inspirasi dalam menciptakan metode pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif dan relevan dengan lingkungan lokal, sekaligus menunjukkan kontribusi penting mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan.
