Ciptakan Alat Pendeteksi Kantuk Bagi Pengemudi, Mahasiswa FT UNNES Raih Juara 3 Pada Kompetisi JR-ROVATION 2022

Mahasiswa Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Semarang (FT UNNES) berhasil meraij Juara 3 pada kompetisi JR-ROVATION 2022 yang diselenggarakan oleh PT. Jasa Raharja pada tanggal 1 Desember 2022 di The Ice Palace, Lotte Shopping Avenue, Kuningan, Jakarta Selatan.

Mereka yakni Indra Maulana, Nugroho Fajar Susanto mahasiswa program studi Penddidikan Teknik Otomotif, Dwi Galih Puji Saputro mahasiswa program studi Pendendidikan Teknik Mesin, dan Zenra Afif mahasiswa program studi Teknik Elektro dengan dosen pembimbing Febrian Arif Budiman SPd MPd.

Keempat mahasiswa tersebut berhasil meraih juara 3 kategori Sains. Pada katagori ini peserta diminta untuk menciptakan inovasi alat keselamatan berkendara yang nantinya di demonstrasikan dan dapat digunakan oleh masyarakat luas dengan tujuan meminimalisir risiko dan dampak kecelakaan.

Dalam kesempatan ini, Indra Maulana, Nugroho Fajar Susanto, Dwi Galih Puji Saputro, dan Zenra Afif memaparkan inovasi yang berjudul “SMYDEKOS: (Smart System Deselerasi Kecepatan Otomatis)”.

Indra Maulana mengatakan SMYDEKOS ini berbasis sensor microsleep dan arduino mega 2560 sebagai upaya pencegahan kecelakaan lalulintas.

“Ini merupakan sebuah inovasi teknologi dibidang otomotif yang berfungsi untuk melakukan pencegahan dini kecelakaan berkendara yang diakibatkan oleh kelalaian pengemudi yang mengantuk,” ucapnya.

Indra menjelaskan cara SMYDEKOS bekerja dengan cara mendeteksi kedipan mata sebagai indikator pengemudi mengantuk.

“Apabila memejamkan mata lebih dari 2 detik maka terjadi deselerasi kecepatan kendaraan yang dibarengi dengan menyalanya klakson dan lampu hazard sebagai peringatan bagi pengemudi dan pengendara lain disekitar ketika melaju dijalan raya,” jelasnya.

Ia menambahkan, SMYDEKOS ini berguna untuk mengurangi tingkat kecelakaan berkendara akibat mengantuk dan keamanan dan keselamatan berkendara lebih terjamin, terangnya.

Rektor UNNES Prof Dr S Martono MSi menyampaikan bahwa gagasan yang diciptakan Indra Maulana dan timnya selian inovatif juga sangat berguna untuk keselamatan berkendara.

“Ini sangat berguna dalam memberikan peringatan bagi pengemudi kendaraan yang mengantuk saat berkendara,” jelasnya.

Prof Martono juga mengungkapkan inovasi yang digagas oleh Indra Maulana dan tim ini dapat menjadi pendorong bagi mahasiswa UNNES lainnya agar saling bersaing dan berlomba dalam menciptakan berbagai gagasan dan inovasi baru.

Sebagai informasi JR-Rovation merupakan program pemberian apresiasi kepada inovator muda dari kalangan mahasiswa Universitas di seluruh Indonesia, atas inovasi dan partisipasi aktif dalam mendukung keselamatan berkendara guna menurunkan angka kecelakaan lalu-lintas.
