Ciptakan Alat Filter, Mahasiswa Unnes Tawarkan Internet Sehat

Internet sehat yang bebas dari pornografi, perjudian dan malware telah jadi dambaan banyak orang, terutama orang tua. Sayangnya, masih banyak konten itu yang lolos dari filtering provider. Akibatnya, konten porno, perjudian, dan malware masih bisa lolos dan mengganggu.

Untuk mengatasi itu, tiga mahasiswa Jurusan Ilmu Politik Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) menciptakan teknonet home. Mereka adalah Wahyu Unggul Striawan, Dhoni Saputro, dan Ardhi Firmansyah. Dengan sejumlah perangkat, ketiga mahasiswa itu membersihkan jaringan internet dari konten yang tidak kehendaki.

“Tidak hanya p0rnografi dan perjudian, tapi malware dan iklan. Produk ini cocok untuk user internet rumah, kantor, dan terutama sekolah dan kampus,” kata Wahyu, ketua peneliti yang menciptakan teknonet home.

Ia merasakan, sejauh ini penyedia bandwith tidak melakukan filtering secara serius. Penyedia bandwith, terutama swasta, lebih mengutamakan keuntungan. Filter terhadap konten pornografi, perjudian, dan malware tidak dilakukan secara ketat.

“Kondisi itulah yang membuat jaringan internet di rumah dan sekolah masih rentan. Meskipun pemerintah telah menyediakan Internet Positif, masih banyak situs porno dan perjudian yang bisa diakses dari rumah dan sekolah. Karena itu, Teknonet Home tetap diperlukan,” lanjutnya.

Wahyu dan kawan-kawan sendiri merasa perlu menciptakan  layanan ini karena prihatin konten tidak sehat dari internet. Ia mengamati, konten tidak sehat sangat membahayakan moral generasi muda.

“Dalam konteks itulah Teknonet Home jadi bagian tidak terpisahkan dari gerakan konservasi moral yang telah dideklarasikan universitas kami,” lanjutnya.

Secara teknis, tim ini memberdayakan tiga elemen untuk melakukan filter secara ketat, yaitu Mikrotik, PC Proxy Server dan Akses Point.  Pendistribusian koneksi Teknonet Home menggunakan wireless dari rumah ke rumah yang sebelumnya telah dilakukan penyaringan.

Jasa ini ternyata diminati masyarakat. Tidak sedikit orang tua dan pengguna internet di instansi pemerintah yang melirik produk ini.

“Sejak Februari, kini telah lebih dari 35 pelanggan yang memanfaatkan jasa ini. Peluang ekspansi pasarnya saya yakin akan bagus karena keluhan terhadap konten internet tidak sehat semakin banyak,” kata Wahyu.

Menurut Wahyu, keunggulan Teknonet Home adalah update nya yang dilakukan setidaknya sekali dalam sepekan. Penyedia jasa ini juga segera merespon jika ada pelanggan yang melaporkan konten tidak sehat yang masih lolos.
