Cegah Banjir, Jurusan PGSD Ajak Siswa Menanam

Bencana banjir yang seolah menjadi langganan di Kelurahan Wonosari Ngaliyan Semarang, menjadikan Korps Sukarela Jurusan Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (KSR PGSD) Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes), menyelenggarakan Proyek Tree and Kids Touching, Minggu (17/2), di tempat tersebut.

Kegiatan ini terselenggara atas kerja sama pihak jurusan dengan Palang Merah Indonesia (PMI) Provinsi Jawa Tengah.

Komandan KSR PGSD Unnes Siswanto mengungkapkan, peserta kegiatan adalah ratusan siswa dari SDN Wonosari 2. Acara dimulai dengan apel yang dibuka oleh Drs Sukardi MPd sebagai perwakilan sambutan dari jurusan PGSD Unnes, kemudian dilanjutkan penyerahan bibit pohon secara simbolik dari Tumini selaku perwakilan PMI Kota Semarang kepada Suhatno selaku perwakilan pihak SD Wonosari 02.

Acara dilanjutkan dengan penyampaian materi oleh pihak KSR PGSD Unnes. Masing-masing kelas diampu oleh dua orang fungsionaris. “Penyampaian materi dilakukan dengan media LCD, slide materi, dan video tentang banjir,” kata Siswanto.

Dia mengatakan, materi yang disampaikan berupa materi siaga banjir, meliputi upaya pencegahan, ketika terjadi banjir dan pasca banjir. “Siswa sangat antusias terhadap materi yang disampaikan,” katanya.

Menanam

Setelah mendapat materi tersebut, siswa melakukan penanaman pohon di lingkungan Wonosari dilanjutkan lomba lukis tong sampah. Penanaman pohon dilakukan oleh siswa kelas V dan VI, yang dibagi menjadi 18 kelompok. Masing-masing kelompok tanam pohon beranggotakan 7-8 orang anak dengan 1-2 orang pendamping dari KSR PGSD Unnes. “Penanaman pohon ini mengikutsertakan warga kelurahan Wonosari, perwakilan Unit Kegiatan Mahasiswa (UKM) Unnes, juga tamu undangan,” jelasnya.

Persiapan kegiatan ini telah dilakukan sebulan sebelumnya. Diawali dari permohonan untuk pengadaan bibit pohon ke berbagai pihak. Hasilnya pun tidak sia-sia, KSR PGSD Unnes berhasil mendapatkan 400 bibit dari Dinas Pertanian, 200 bibit dari Dinas Kehutanan dan 240 dari Perum Perhutani Kendal. Bibit tersebut terdiri atas bibit pohon buah, jati, mahoni, sengon.

Untuk mencapai lokasi menanam, siswa harus berjalan kaki dengan membawa bibit pohon dari sekolah menuju bantaran sungai. “Walaupun jalan yang dilalui becek dan medan tanam cukup sulit, namun siswa-siswa mengikutinya dengan semangat,” katanya.

Sementara itu, siswa kelas IV mengikuti lomba melukis tong sampah secara berkelompok. Masing-masing kelompok beranggotakan 4-5 orang. Lukisan yang dibuat siswa kelas IV pun sangat menarik dan kreatif.

Pada puncak acara, dibagikan doorprize dan hadiah bagi para pemenang. “Selesainya Tree and Kids Touching ini diharapkan dapat menyentuh hati siswa untuk senantiasa menjaga lingkungan. Terutama upaya pencegahan banjir sehingga banjir langganan di kelurahan Wonosari dapat diminimalisasi,” harap Siswanto.
