Buka dengan Indah, Tutup dengan Kesan

Tak ada beda terlalu mencolok antara tulisan populer dengan karya ilmiah, secara  anatomis. Kedua-duanya dibangun atas tiga bagian, yakni pembuka, isi, dan penutup. Hanya, ulasan tulisan pouler lebih cair dan subjektif. Demikian salah satu topik yang mengemuka dalam diskusi kepenulisan yang digelar Taman Baca Ngudi Kawruh, di kampus FE, Minggu (25/9).

“Tugas penulis, adalah membuka tulisan dengan indah dan menutupnya dengan mengesankan,” kata Surahmat, pemantik dalam diskusi tersebut.

Lanjut  mahasiswa Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia ini, keindahan penting ditampilkan pada pembuka tulisan karena paragraf pertama menjadi semacam etalase. Ketertarikan pembaca biasanya bergantung pada bagian awal tulisan.

“Anda bisa gunakan pertanyaan, pernyataan, quote, narasi, atau bahkan joke,” lanjutnya, dalam diskusi yang dipandu dosen Jurusan Sejarah, Tsabit Azinar Ahmad itu.

Diskusi Komunitas Baca Ngudi Kawruh diikuti lebih dari 20 peserta. Sebagian besar adalah mahasiswa angakatan 2011. Menurut Tsabit, diskusi digelar untuk memantik rekan-rekan memulai menulis.

Frida,  mahasiswa Jurusan Matematika misalnya, menanyakan standar kualitas sebuah tulisan yang layak disbeut bagus. Sebab, berdasarkan pengalamannya, ia kerap tidak merasa percaya diri saat menulis.

Peserta lainnya, Taufik, menanyakan strategi supaya tulisan dapat dibaca. Menurut mahasiswa asal Pemalang ini, keterbacaan tulisan yang dihasilkan seseorang mempengaruhi motivasi menulis. “Bagaimana bisa semangat nulis kalau tulisan cuma dibaca sendiri?” tanyanya.
