Semarang, 08 August 2025 – The Asset and Business Optimization Agency (BOAB) of Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) organized a morning exercise and tree planting event at Asrama 1 Putri Kalisegoro UNNES on August 8, 2025, from 07:00 to 10:30 WIB. The event was attended by BOAB leaders, business units and enterprises under BOAB, partner organizations, and dormitory residents.
The activity began with a group morning exercise aimed at promoting physical fitness and strengthening camaraderie among participants. It was then followed by the planting of various superior tree species in the dormitory and KWU UNNES areas.
In his remarks, the Head of BOAB UNNES, Dr. Moh Solehatul Mustofa, M.A., expressed his appreciation for the presence of all participants. He also emphasized that this tree planting activity is part of UNNES’s vision of conservation.
“This morning we are planting trees together as a concrete manifestation of one of UNNES’s visions, conservation. Preserving nature is our shared responsibility. The trees we plant today, including Sawo Australia (Abiu), Jambu Jamaika, citrus fruit trees, crystal guava, and flowering algesa, are among the world’s superior plant species and are expected to inspire both visitors and the UNNES community,” he said.
He also reminded participants about the importance of sustainable care after the planting process.
“Planting is important, but caring for the plants is even more important and challenging. No matter how beautiful the plant is, without proper care, it will not grow optimally. Therefore, let us maintain these plants together so they can thrive and beautify our environment,” he added.
This activity serves as a tangible step by UNNES in preserving the environment and reaffirming its commitment to integrating conservation values into every initiative. Furthermore, it is expected to encourage the academic community and the public to work hand in hand in protecting the environment and utilizing shared green spaces.
