Bersama Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Malaysia, Prodi Ilmu Politik UNNES Selenggarakan Kuliah International Online Series

Program Studi Ilmu Politik Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) berkolaborasi dengan Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Malaysia menyelenggarakan Kuliah International Online Series pada Jumat (6/11).

Hadir sebagai pembicara utama, Suyatno PhD memberikan materi perkuliahan international online series secara daring kepada para mahasiswa Prodi Ilmu Politik Fakultas Ilmu Sosial UNNES.

Suyatno PhD merupakan Deputy Dean of Student Affair and Alumni Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Trengganu Malaysia yang juga mengambil peran pada Asociation Political Science Of America (APSA), salah satu asosiasi yang berpengaruh dalam pengembangan keilmuan politik di dunia.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Suyanto PhD didampingi oleh tiga dosen Ilmu Politik UNNES yakni Moh Aris Munandar SSos MM, Erisandi Arditama SIP MA, dan Wenny Eka Septina MSi yang berdiskusi mengenai International Relations and Politics Economy.

“Negara merupakan produk dari evolusi yang terus menerus sampai menjadi negara yang modern. Mulai dari Kinship (kekerabatan) atau juga political background yang kemudian berkembang berbasis religious yakni sumber kekuasaan berasal dari Tuhan atau kuasa dijalankan oleh yang dianggap wakil Tuhan” jelas Suyatno PhD.

Selanjutnya, anggota APSA itu juga membahas perilaku politik dari negara adidaya seperti Amerika Serikat yang masih menggunakan kemampuan politik bagi kepentingan ekonominya (tahapan political consciousnes).

Moh Aris Munandar SSos MM menambahkah bahwa kondisi tersebut sesuai dengan teori “Kutukan Sumber Daya Alam” yakni negara yang memiliki sumber daya alam yang banyak, biasanya kualitas demokrasi dan partisipasi politik masyarakat dibuat rendah, maka elite politik dapat mengontrol dan menyalahgunakan sumber daya alam untuk kepentingan pribadi atau kroninya. Maka berkembanglah politik oligarki.

Terkait control politik, Wenny Eka Septina MSi menambahkan adanya “queen control” atau control ratu terhadap aktivitas politik suaminya.

“Misalnya pernah terjadi pada kerajaan Jawa, contoh kasusnya adalah munculnya legenda Nyai Roro Kidul, kalau kehidupan politik ketika masa kerajaan Louis di Prancis. Kontrol politik bisa juga dilakukan oleh orang yang tidak memegang kekuasaan sesungguhnya,” Tegas Wenny Eka Septina MSi.

Pada sesi akhir kuliah series ini, Suyatno PhD juga bercerita perihal kondisi negara barat terhadap bumi nusantara.

“Barat telah membuat nusantara menjadi rendah diri, peradaban nusantara dihitung mulai tahun 1945. Padahal, nusantara itu sudah berkembang peradabannya ketika bangsa Eropa masih hidup dalam suasana Bar Barisme, bahkan mereka belum mengenal budaya mandi” ucap Suyatno PhD.

Sebagai penutup dalam kuliah international online series, juga tercetus rencana tindak lanjut kerjasama antar Prodi Ilmu Politik FIS UNNES dengan Department of Law and International Relation Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin Trengganu Malaysia terkait penulisan book chapter, riset kolaborasi Malaysia-Indonesia-Taiwan, relasi antar mahasiswa, dan pengujian skripsi.
