UNNES Lestarikan Potensi Biodiversitas Gunung Ungaran melalui Focus Group Discussion

Sebagai universitas berwawasan konservasi, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) turut andil dalam upaya pelestarian sumber daya alam yang ada di sekitarnya. Salah satunya melalui pelestarian keanekaragaman hayati di Gunung Ungaran. Namun dalam implementasinya, masih ada berbagai permasalahan yang belum mampu teratasi. Diperlukan adanya komitmen dan dukungan dari stakeholder terkait yakni pemerintah, masyarakat, dunia usaha dan perguruan tinggi.
Untuk menjembatani komunikasi antar stakeholder tersebut, Jurusan Biologi Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) dan Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian pada Masyarakat (LP2M) UNNES menginisiasi Kegiatan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) penelitian “Kajian Etnobiologi dalam Upaya Pelestarian Keanekaragaman Hayati di Gunung Ungaran Jawa Tengah”, Jumat (20/7).
Dalam kegiatan yang berlangsung di Hotel Noormans Semarang, hadir Kepala Balai Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam (BKSDA), Kepala Dinas Lingkungan Hidup & Kehutanan (LHK), dan Kepala Dinas Perum Perhutani Provinsi Jawa Tengah, serta tokoh masyarakat Pegunungan Ungaran. Turut hadir Dr Suwiito Eko Pramono MPd, Kepala LP2M UNNES dan Prof Dr Edy Cahyono Msi, Wakil Dekan Bidang Akademik FMIPA UNNES.
Ketua tim peneliti Dr Margareta Rahayuningsih MSi mengungkapkan, konservasi tidak hanya dari segi fisik tetapi juga dari segi culture budaya. Penelitian ini merupakan langkah awal dari pelestarian bersama Gunung Ungaran yang memiliki beragam keanekaragaman hayati yang belum terekspos.
Hal tersebut sejalan dengan penuturan Kabid Pengelolaan Daerah Aliran Sungai dan Konservasi SDA Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan Provinsi Jawa Tengah Ir Raharjo MP bahwa permasalahan yang ada didominasi masalah sosial.
“Tekanan yang ada dalam proses pelestarian kawasan hutan Gunung Ungaran yaitu perburuan, daya dukung habitat menurun akibat adanya kerusakan hutan dan rehabilitasi yang belum optimal,” ujarnya.
Guna mengatasi permasalahan yang ada, perwakilan tokoh masyarakat Widi Heryanto mengusulkan adanya fasilitasi & dukungan terhadap kelompok masyarakat pro-konservasi, penguatan sikap peduli masyarakat melalui pranata hukum yang jelas, melakukan revitalisasi budaya sehinga nilai potensi kearifan lokal tidak hilang serta membangun kepastian zonasi kawasan hutan Gunung Ungaran.
Supaya masukan dan informasi mampu terhimpun dengan baik, hasil kegiatan penelitian ini rencananya akan dipublikasikan dalam buku tentang Anggrek dan Burung di Gunung Ungaran.
