UNNES Gelar Kejuaraan Woodball Nasional dan UNNES Open 2018

Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), mengadakan kegiatan Kejuaran Woodball nasional antar perguruan tinggi se-Indonesia bagi mahasiswa dan UNNES Open Woodball 2018 yang terbuka untuk masyarakat umum.

Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan oleh UKM Woodball dan berlangsung selama tiga hari mulai Jumat-Sabtu (13-15/04) di lapangan Mini Golf And Driving Range Fakultas Ilmu Keolahragaan (FIK) Kampus UNNES Sekaran Gunungpati Semarang.

Sebelumnya pada tahun 2017 UNNES berhasil menjuarai serangkaian Kejuaraan 9th Asian University Woodball Championship, dan juga meraih rangking I Dunia putra pada International Tour Woodball.

“Selayaknya sebagai pemegang juara dunia Woodball, maka UNNES memfasilitasi rangkaian kegiatan kejuaraan Woodball pada kancah nasional untuk mahasiswa dan masyarakat umum,” ungkap Suharmawan Ramadhan selaku koordinator kegiatan.

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melatih skill para mahasiswa dan juga kontribusi terhadap ilmu keolahragaan. Kegiatan ini terbagi dalam 3 runtutan acara yakni Technical Meeting hari Jumat (13/04), serta perlombaan dan final pada Sabtu – Minggu (14-15/04).

Kegiatan diikuti oleh 165 peserta dari PTN dan daerah diantaranya UNESA, UNDIP, Universitas Boyolali, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW) Salatiga, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sukabumi, Jambi, Buleleng Bali, dan Banten.

“Kegiatan seperti ini diharapkan dapat menjadi event tahunan UKM Woodball dan menorehkan prestasi yang gemilang bagi UNNES serta menjadi motivasi yang kuat UNNES dalam menjuarai kejuaran dunia Woodball selanjutnya,” ungkap Wakil Rektor bidang Kemahasiswaan Dr Bambang Budi Raharjo MSi.

Kemenangan tunggal putra stroke competition diraih oleh Muhammad Khafid dari UNNES, sedangkan tunggal putri stroke competition oleh Ni Kadek Dyah Melinda Dewantari Buleleng tim A.

Kemudian pertandingan ganda putra stroke competition dimenangkan Bambang Haryadi dari Boyolali, dan kemenangan dari ganda putri stroke competition diraih oleh Ni Komang Yacoba Trikayani dari Buleleng tim A.

Kejuaraan ini baru pertama kali diselenggarakan oleh UKM Woodball. Dihadiri oleh Wakil Dekan 3 FIK Taufik Hidayat, Ketua Pelakasana Sutardjo dari International Woodball Federation (IWBA) dan Wardhana selaku Ketua Pemprov Jateng.
