Mahasiswa UNNES Ikuti Konferensi Internasional Tingkat Mahasiswa se-ASEAN

Tiga mahasiswa UNNES mengikuti International Student Conference in ASEAN Region: The 7th UI Youth Enviromental Action 2018 pada Rabu hingga Sabtu (14-17/11).

UI Youth Enviromental Action (UI YEA) adalah acara tahunan yang diselenggarakan oleh Departemen Lingkungan Hidup Badan Eksekutif Mahasiswa Universitas Indonesia (BEM UI) yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan inovasi yang berkaitan dengan isu-isu lingkungan, yang melibatkan pemuda sebagai fokus utamanya.

Tahun ini, UI YEA yang diadakan sejak tanggal 14-17 November 2018 hadir untuk ketujuh kalinya dengan tema besar “Bagaimana Pemuda Memecahkan Masalah Limbah untuk Membangun Kota yang Berkelanjutan di ASEAN 2030”.

Delegasi UNNES yang terdiri dari Arfan Habibi (Sejarah, 2016), Nur ‘Izzatul Hikmah (Geografi, 2016), dan Eka Yuniati (Sosiologi dan Antropologi, 2016) berhasil masuk dalam 17 Besar untuk mempresentasikan penelitiannya di Kampus UI Depok yang telah bersaing dengan 63 Tim dari Perguruan Tinggi se-ASEAN.

Konferensi yang diadakan terbagai menjadi tiga sub topik dengan masing-masing delegasi terpilih yaitu Health Cluster dari tim (UI, UNILA, UPN Veteran Jatim, POLSRI, dan Royal University of Phnom Penh dari Kamboja).

Kemudian dari Science and Technology Cluster (UI, UNPAD, UB, UNS, POLBAN). Tim Arfan masuk dalam Social and Humanity Cluster dengan delegasi terpilih (UNNES, UGM, UI, UNS, UNDIP, UNPAD, dan FEU Diliman delegasi dari Filipina).

Arfan dan tim membawakan penelitian berjudul: “Fertilizer of Coffee Skin Compost: Strategy for Reducing Coffee Production Waste to Improve Community Economic Capacity of Medono Village Kendal Regency”.

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi hasil observasi mengenai potensi limbah kulit kopi yang dapat diolah kembali menjadi pupuk kompos yang berpengaruh positif pada kesejahteraan masyarakat dan kepedulian lingkungan di Desa Medono.

Arfan menambahkan, selain mempresentasikan penelitiannya juga mengikuti pameran Poster dan mengikuti Forum Group Discussion (FGD) yang membahas permasalahan dan pengelolaan sampah di kawasan ASEAN. Adapun hasil dari penelitian yang telah di presentasikan paper terpilih akan dipublikasikan di ASEAN Journal Community & Engangement (AJCE) dan semua paper delegasi akan di proceeding dan dicetak yang bekerjasama dengan UI Press.

Delegasi terpilih juga mengikuti serangkaian kegiatan diantaranya; International Seminar UI YEA 2018 dengan pembicara dan para tokoh dibidang lingkungan. Kemudian juga mengikuti kegiatan terhadap peduli lingkungan melalui pengelolaan daur ulang sampah di salah satu Tempat Pengelolaan Sampah (TPS) di Bogor.

Tidak hanya itu, para delegasi juga mengikuti outbound di Kebun Raya Bogor untuk memahami pentingnya (Aksi Pemuda) terhadap lingkungan untuk pembangunan ASEAN 2030.
