Badai, Mahapala Unnes Kibarkan Merah-Putih di Puncak Aconcagua

Tim ekspedisi Spirit of Indonesian Youth Expedition Part III (SIYE III) Mahasiswa Pencinta Alam Universitas Negeri Semarang (Mahapala Unnes) berhasil mencapai  puncak tertinggi benua Amerika Gunung Aconcagua pada ketinggian 6962 meter di atas permukaan laut (mdpl) 1 Desember 2013 pukul 15.30 waktu setempat.

“Di puncak Aconcagua, ketiga atlet Mahapala berhasil mengibarkan bendera Merah-Putih dan bendera Unnes” kata ketua panitia ekspedisi Ma`rifah.

Tim Mahapala Unnes yang berada di Indonesia, telah menerima pemberitahuan dari Tim Atlet SIYE III Mahapala Unnes yang terdiri atas Miftakhul Ulum, Hermawati, Putra Triya Atmaja, melalui telfon satelit dan dari situs resmi Tour Guide Aymara melalui guide Miguel Lopez, Selasa (3/12).

“Assalamuaalikum, Alhamdulillah kami berhasil, walaupun kami sempat terkena badai angin besar.  Tapi dengan semangat dan kondisi yang masih memungkinkan untuk melanjutkan perjalanan, kami paksakan diri ini untuk terus maju mengibarkan Merah Putih, bendera Unnes, dan panji kebanggaan kita Mahapala Unnes. Waktu di puncak hanya 15 menit untuk mengambil dokumentasi dan tim harus kembali turun karena cuaca yang tidak kondusif. Sekarang kondisi tim sehat, salam untuk keluarga, teman-teman semua di Semarang, wassalamualaikum,” demikian kata Miftakhul Ulum kepada Ma’rifah dari telfon satelit.

Ketika mengabarkan hal itu, ketiganya berada di Plaza De Mulas 4.300 mdpl. Setelah itu, mereka berencana melanjutkan turun ke Confluencia 3300 mdpl dan langsung ke First Base Camp Plaza de Inca 2.700 mdpl

Larangan Pendakian

Perjalanan menuju Puncak Aconcagua ternyata tak semudah saat tim melakukan aklimatisasi (penyesuaian diri di ketinggian). Tim sempat diterjang badai dan salju.

Dijadwalkan setelah aklimatisasi di Plaza de Mulas 4300 mdpl, seharusnya tim melakukan perjalanan menuju Plaza Canada 4910 mdpl. Karena alasan cuaca perjalanan ditunda, yang semula target pendakian tanggal 30 November 2013 diubah menjadi tanggal 1 Desember 2013.

Meski mendapat larangan dari guide Miguel Lopez karna badai belum benar-benar reda, dengan harapan besar tim tetap menapaki Aconcagua hingga berhasil mencapai puncak tertinggi 6962 mdpl.
