Awali Tahun Baru dengan Speed of Trust

Empat orang mahasiswa terlambat ujian. Mereka mengaku menumpang mobil yang sama dan ban mobilnya bocor. Akhirnya mereka ketahuan bohong saat dosen menanyakan ban sebelah mana yang bocor. Mereka tidak bisa menjawab dengan jawaban yang sama dan mereka telah kehilangan trust dari dosen mereka.

Itulah trust. Kepercayaan menurut Rektor UNNES, adalah suatu hal yang niscaya dan harus diusahakan sekuat tenaga. Pesan itu disampaikan Rektor, Prof. Dr. Fathur Rokhman, M.Hum., pada apel pagi pertama tahun 2018. Kepercayaan mudah hilang kalau tidak dijaga. Namun kepercayaan bisa dipercepat pembentukannya dengan speed of trust. Konsep ini beliau nukil dari Stephen Covey, salah satu pembicara dan motivator terlaris di Amerika.

Percepatan kepercayaan diawali dengan memiliki  self trust. Orang yg percaya pada dirinya akan melakukan yang terbaik pada pekerjaannya. Sulit membayangkan, sebuah universitas bisa sukses jika individu-individu di dalamnya memiliki kepercayaan diri dan kompetensi yang rendah. Kedua, dalam lembaga harus ada relationship trust. Orang-orangnya harus saling menghargai. Gosip dan isu-isu murahan harus dihindari. Selanjutnya organizational trust, setiap orang harus percaya pada timnya untuk menyelesaikan sesuatu. Jangan ada curiga dan prasangka yang berlebihan. Keempat ada market trust. Ini adalah bagaimana orang luar menilai organisasi kita. Bagaimana masyarakat menilai UNNES? Apakah kita terpercaya dan masyarakat mau menggunakan jasa atau produk kita dengan senang hati? Yang terakhir adalah societal trust. Apakah UNNES mampu mencetak pemimpin-pemimpin baru yang diterima masyarakat.

Dengan memahami prinsip speed of trust, UNNES akan segera mewujudkan universitas berwawasan konservasi dan bereputasi internasional lebih cepat dari rencana induk maupun rencana strategis. Untuk itu maka dibutuhkan pengungkit pada empat aspek personalia UNNES yaitu: integritas, niat, kemampuan dan kinerja.
