Android untuk Pendidikan

Android tidak hanya digunakan untuk keperluan pekerjaan dan hiburan. Namun dengan sifatnya yang memiliki basis developer yang besar untuk pengembangan aplikasi, membuat fungsi android menjadi lebih luas dan beragam. Salah satunya adalah untuk memajukan pendidikan menuju ke arah yang lebih baik.

Demikian Lukluk Luhuring Santoso S Kom MT, (Software Enginer at 3iQ’s Inc, Orlando, Florida USA) mengungkapkan hal itu dalam Workshop Android for Education, Minggu (3/6) di gedung serbaguna Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP) Unnes Sekaran. Acara ini diselenggarakan oleh Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknologi Pendidikan FIP Unnes.

“Android plus pendidikan memungkinkan kita membuat sebuah collaborative learning. Yaitu sebuah lingkungan belajar dimana banyak orang yang bergabung mengerjakan suatu pekerjaan bersama-sama, saling memberi feedback sehingga menghasilkan sesuatu yang sempurna,” katanya.

Di Eropa dan Amerika, lanjut Lukluk, siswa sekolah dasar sudah terbiasa mengerjakan project (riset). “Setelah mendapatkan materi dari guru, guru memberi tugas project yang berhubungan dengan materi tersebut secara berkelompok. Karena tiap orang memiliki pandangan yang berbeda, itulah yang akan membuat suatu pembelajaran lebih cepat dimengerti dan menghasilkan sesuatu yang luar biasa.”

Septia Lutfi M Kom, Ketua Stimik Himsya Semarang, juga mengungkapkan, perkembangan android itu terjadi dalam hitungan bulan. “Tidak seperti windows yang butuh waktu hitungan tahun untuk memunculkan versi terbarunya. Setelah versi 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, sudah ditetapkan, pada bulan Juni android akan mengeluarkan versi terbarunya Android 4.1 Jelly Bean yang selanjutnya akan disusul dengan Android versi Key Lime Pie masih dalam tahun yang sama. Sementara itu, Windows dengan produk Windows 7 yang dirilis tahun 2009 hingga tahun ini belum ditetapkan kapan akan merilis versi terbarunya {Windows 8).”

Workshop yang diikuti oleh puluhan peserta ini dilaksanakan selama 2 hari, 2-3 Juni. Selain mahasiswa Unnes, ada juga perserta dari Komunitas Android Semarang (KAS) turut hadir. Peserta diajarkan praktik android development seperti web site wraping, HTML 5, unity 3D, dan java android SDK. Setelah acara selesai, peserta diwajibkan membuat 5 aplikasi sebgai tiket pengambilan sertifikat workshop.

    perkembangan android sebenarnya terlalu cepat ,dapat diumpamakan bayi yang langsung bisa berjalan, tapi saya akui android selangkah lebih maju dari OS lain
