Alumni dan Almamater Harus Bersinergi

Sebagai alumni, di mana pun dan apapun profesinya sekarang adalah anak kandung dari ibu yang melahirkan, yaitu Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) yang dulu bernama Institut Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan (IKIP) Negeri Semarang.

Demikian dikatakan Budiyanto SH MHum Ketua Umum Dewan Pimpinan Pusat Ikatan Alumni Unnes (DPP IKA Unnes), pada sarasehan alumni, Sabtu (23/3) di kampus Sekaran. Kegiatan dihadiri ratusan alumni baik dari lingkungan kampus maupun berbagai daerah.

Kegiatan diawali dengan pelantikan Pengurus Alumni di tingkat Fakultas masa bakti 2013-2018 oleh Ketua Umum Budiyanto SH Mhum.

Sarasehan yang mengusung tema Kontribusi Alumni dalam Pengembangan Universitas Konservasi, dalam rangka Dies Natalis ke 48 Unnes menghadirkan 4 nara sumber semuanya alumni Unnes yaitu Dr. Wartanto Direktur Pendidikan Luar Sekolah (PLS), Nurhadi Amiyanto MPd (Kepala Dinas Pendidikan Jawa Tengah), Djuwarni AMd (Wakil Bupati Kebumen) dan Giri Suyatno (pengusaha di Bandung).

“Sebagai anak (alumni) yang baik wajib hukumnya berbakti kepada ibu (almamater) yang melahirkan dan membesarkan serta membekali ilmu sehingga bisa menjadi seperti sekarang ini sehingga bisa sinergis, kata Bidiyanto.

Budiyanto juga mengemukakan, balas budi tidak harus berujud materi. Dengan ikut memikirkan, memberi saran untuk kemajuan almamater adalah bukti bekti kita pada sang ibu tercinta. Luangkan waktu beberapa menit saja dalam sehari untuk nguri-uri keberadaan organisasi alumni ini, sehingga akan semakin besar kontribusi kita bagi kemajuan kampus konservasi satu-satunya di negara ini, katanya.

Senada dengan Ketua Umum DPP IKA Unnes, Rektor Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo mengatakan Unnes bisa menjadi besar bukan karena hebatnya Unnes itu sendiri, tetapi merupakan hasil dari kerjasama dari banyak elemen sebagai stakeholder, termasuk keberadaan alumni.

Alumni memegang peranan penting dalam memberikan kontribusi bagi kejayaan almamater. Maka para alumni diharapkan memberikankan iguh pertikel nya bagi kemajuan Unnes, harap Rektor.

Dalam acara yang berlangsung meriah dan penuh keakraban diantara alumni itu, DPP IKA Unnes memberikan bantuan beasiswa kepada mahasiswa dari 8 fakultas yang ada di Unnes.
