Rektor: Ajining Raga Gumantung saka Busana

Kita tentu tak asing dengan ungkapan klasik Jawa ajining raga gumantung saka busana yang secara harfiah bermakna nilai raga ditentukan oleh pakaian yang dikenakan. Ungkapan itu kini terasa menemukan aktualitasnya kembali dalam  Gelar Karya Konservasi Teknologi Jasa dan Produksi (TJP) Angkatan 2009, di auditorium Unnes Sekaran, Selasa (26/6).

“Busana tidak hanya makin menambah bobot dan nilai raga, tapi juga sekaligus lewat upaya untuk mengkreasi busana, kreativitas dalam bingkai kebudayaan itu telah diupayakan,” kata Rektor Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Prof Sudijono Sastroatmodjo ketika membuka acara.

Konservasi, menurut Raktor, pada hakikatnya adalah menjujung tinggi prinsip perlindungan, pengawetan, pemanfaatan, dan pengembangan secara lestari terhadap sumber daya alam dan dan budaya luhur bangsa. “Dari pilihan tema saja sudah tampak, gelar karya ini memang telah didedikasikan sebagai kegiatan yang segaris dengan visi Konservasi,” tegas Rektor.

Ada yang unik dalam Gelar Karya dengan tema Cultur Heritage of Central Java for Indonesia ini, yakni lebih dari 85 mahasiswa TJP angkatan 2009 merancang koleksi busana yang keseluruhan bahannya dibuat menggunakan batik yang berasal dari kota-kota di Jawa Tengah. Desain yang dibuat mahasiswa merupakan perwujudan ciri-ciri daerah atau sesuatu yang khas dimiliki oleh daerah yang sama.

Beberapa mahasiswa bahkan menjadikan kulit kerang sebagai detail gaun, sedangkan beberapa lainnya hanya menggunakan bulu unggas dan kambing sebagai aplikasi, sehingga tetap memakai kain biasa agar struktur bajunya tetap kuat.

“Mereka dibolehkan menambahkan materi lain seperti kulit kerang, bulu unggas, bambu batu hingga pita, yang penting bahan tersebut merupakan perwujudan ciri ciri daerah Jawa Tengah,” kata Ketua Jurusan Teknologi Jasa dan Produksi Fakultas Teknik Wahyuningsih MPd seraya meyakinkan bahwa jurusan TJP tetap berkomitmen mendukung Unnes sebagai Universitas Konservasi.

Bukan hanya busana, Gelar Karaya kali ini juga memamerkan produk makanan olahan dari Jawa Tengah. Seperti Jamu Jun, Lumpia kreasi dari singkong, Nasi liwet bakar bambu, wedang ronde, dan masih banyak lainnya.
