Wakil Rektor Bidang Kemahasiswaan Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) Dr Abdurrahman MPd telah berkirim surat kepada Presiden BEM KM nomor B/937/KM/2020 tertanggal 19 Februari 2020 yang intinya tentang penundaan pelaksanaan diskusi.

Lebih lanjut Dr Abdurrahman menyampaikan diskusi akademik yang digagas oleh BEM sesuai dengan surat undangan yang dikirimkan ke Rektor No.002.1/BEM KM UNNES/II/2020 tertanggal 17 Februari 2020 belum bisa dilakukan karena tema, aturan aturan, hal-hal teknis belum disepakati bersama.

Wakil Rektor Bidang kemahasiswaan juga ingin mendiskusikan dulu acara yang akan digelar dalam format diskusi atau Debat.

Menurutnya kalau yang akan diadakan debat akademik maka seharusnya dirancang dulu dengan matang dari kedua belah pihak yang akan berdebat, temanya disepakati bersama tidak menyudutkan salah satu pihak, aturan-aturan debat disusun disepakati bersama, ketentuan bagi pengunjung/penonton juga disepakati kedua belah pihak dan hal-hal teknis lain harus benar benar dimatangkan dan disetujui oleh kedua belah pihak yang akan berdebat.

“Debat akademik seharusnya temanya dirancang berbasis keilmuan atau ilmiah. Karena kedua belah pihak dari Fakultas Bahasa dan Seni debat dapat dirancang dari perspektif linguistik. Kalau masalahnya yang diangkat terkait politik, hukum, pendidikan atau yang lain maka perlu melibatkan orang-orang yang berkompeten dibidangnya dari kedua belah pihak.

Kalau tidak ada aturan dan ketentuan yang disepakati bisa menjadi liar “saur manuk” dan tidak ada dampak akademik yang didapat,” ujar Dr Abdurrahman.

Terkait pembebastugasan sementara Wakil Rektor Bidang Umum dan Keuangan Dr S Martono menyampaikan, pembebastugasan dosen tidak perlu didebatkan karena masih proses pemeriksaan.

Hasil pemeriksaan yang sudah ada telah disampaikan ke kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dan Komisi Aparatur Sipil Negara (KASN). Rektor sebagai abdi negara dalam menerbitkan surat sudah sesuai peraturan. Pembinaan ASN menjadi kewajiban Rektor untuk menjaga taat azaz sebagai Good Governance University.

“Ajakan debat terbuka oleh seseorang terkait pembebastugasannya tidak substansi. Apa yang harus diperdebatkan dalam ruang tersebut? Keputusan pembebastugasan dosen sementara adalah sudah sesuai kaidah akademik, sesuai surat permintaan Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan atas temuan di media sosial yang bersangkutan. Dalam surat Kemendikbud tersebut meminta agar dosen yang bersangkutan mendapatkan pembinaan.

Langkah Rektor UNNES dengan membebastugaskan dosen tersebut atas rekemendasi dari tim binap untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada dosen tersebut lebih memiliki waktu yang cukup dalam menjawab dan menjelaskan peristiwa dugaan tersebut. Hal tersebut juga sebagai upaya UNNES membangun SDM Cerdas Berkarakter,” ujar Dr S Martono.
