Abdurrahman: Proses Jadi Guru Sangat Panjang

Untuk menjadi guru sekarang ini seperti kalau orang menjadi dokter, prosesnya sangat panjang. Ada anggapan bahwa setelah lulus kuliah dari program studi kependidikan langsung bisa menjadi guru, itu anggapan kurang pas, sekarang tidak seperti itu.

Sekretaris Lembaga Pengembangan Pendidikan dan Profesi (LP3) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Abdurrahman MPd mengatakan itu saat rapat koordinasi dengan 410 Kepala Sekolah dan dosen pembimbing Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan (PPL), Kamis (4/7) di rektorat kampus Sekaran.

Abdurrahman juga mengemukakan, sejak dua tahun ini seorang untuk menjadi guru harus lulus S1 ditempuh empat tahun, indeks prestasi kumulatif (IPK) 3, setelah itu harus masuk program SM3T (Sarjana Mendidik di daerah Terdepan, Terluar, dan Tertinggal) di Aceh, Kalimantan, dan NTT (Ende, Manggarai) mereka mengabdi selama satu tahun.

Setelah lulus dari daerah pengabdian, kata Abdurrahman, mereka kembali ke perguruan tinggi pengirim untuk mengikuti pendidikan profesi guru selama satu tahun. Setelah lulus baru mereka mendapat sertifikat guru. Total untuk menjadi guru adalah enam tahun, tegas Abdurrahman.

Sebagai informasi, selama mengabdi di luar Jawa mereka mendapat gaji sebesar Rp 2,5 juta per bulan. Oleh karena itu peran kepala sekolah dan dosen pembimbing PPL sangat memegang peranan penting sehingga akan lahir guru-gru profesional, katanya.

Kepala Pusat Pengembangan PPL Masugino MPd melaporkan kegiatan ini diikuti 410 kepala sekolah dan dosen pembimbing PPL, dan Kepala Balai Latihan. Tempat PPL itu terdiri atas SD, SMP, SMA, SMK, MTs, MA, dan Balai Latihan yang menyabar di 10 Kabupaten/Kota diantaranya Pekalongan, Tegal, Magelang, Salatiga Semarang, dan Demak.
