Prof Malik Fadjar: Mall Lemahkan Karakter Bangsa

Maraknya korupsi, pembunuhan, pemerkosaan, dan demonstrasi yang berakhir ricuh menjadi indikator merosotnya karakter bangsa Indonesia.

Demikian dikemukakan mantan meneri pendidikan nasional Prof Abdul Malik Fadjar ketika memberikan kuliah umum Fakultas Hukum (FH) Unnes, Senin, (31/10) di gedung C7 lantai III kampus Sekaran.

Di hadapan ratusan mahasiswa FH, mantan Rektor Universitas Muhammadiyah Malah itu menuturkan kondisi moralitas bangsa Indonesia yang menurutnya semakin merosot. “Memudarnya rasa keindonesiaan karena dangkalnya rasa keadilan yang nyaris menghentikan peradaban bangsa. Pola masyarakat kita yang bangga dengan gaya hidup kebarat-baratan menjadi bukti nyata betapa bangsa kita belum menghargai bangsanya sendiri. Padahal, bangsa kita miliki nilai-nilai luhur yang lebih pantas untuk dibanggakan,” katanya.

Lelaki kelahiran Yogyakarta itu juga menyoroti keberadaan pusat perbelanjaan modern seperti mall yang dianggapnya berperan dalam membentuk masyarakat yang individualis. “Padahal, keberadaan pasar tradisional memungkinkan interaksi dan jalinan komunikasi yang lebih manusiawi, membangun rasa kebersamaan, dan menjadi wadah keberlangsungan nilai-nilai keindonesiaan,” katanya.

Ubaidillah Kamal, Pembantu Dekan Bidang Kemahasiswaan FH mengatakan, dialog nasional yang mengangkat tema “Revitalisasi Karakter Bangsa” itu bertujuan untuk menggali dan memotivasi mahasiswa untuk lebih menghargai nilai nilai keindonesiaan.

“Dialog ini merupakan bentuk kepedulian FH terhadap krisis moral di Indonesia.  Melalui kegiatan ini, diharapkan mahasiswa dapat mengamalkan kembali nilai nilai keindonesiaan, seperti kejujuran, disiplin, ramah-tamah, dan sopan santun,” katanya.

    Ok! saya sangat sependapat dengan Prof. Malik Fajar, memang dengan maraknya “Mall” di mana-mana akan berpengaruh pembentukan karakter individualistis dan sangat tidak cocok dan sesuai dengan kepribadian bangsa Indonesia yang mengedepankan sifat kegotongroyongan, untuk itu hayooo…adik-adik mahasiswa penerus pemimpin bangsa mari kita kurangi acara jalan-jalan ke Mall apalagi cari pacar di Mall ….. (itu budaya barat yang kurang sesuai)
