Sejumlah 5143 mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) yang tersebar di 30 Provinsi di Indonesia yang mencakup 190 kabupaten/Kota, 914 Kecamatan, dan 3068 Desa akan mengikuti Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Bersama Melawan Covid-19 (BMC) tahun 2020.

Meskipun KKN dilaksanakan secara daring, Kami tetap mengapresiasi semangat mahasiswa yang tidak mengurangi antusiasme untuk mengikuti KKN. Terbukti dari seluruh 5143 mahasiswa. Jumlah ini bukan jumlah yang kecil, karena setiap periode penerjuanan KKN sekitar 2.000 an mahasiswa. Ini menjadi luar biasa.

Hal itu disampaikan Ketua LPPM UNNES Dr Suwito Eko Pramono MPd saat Kegiatan Pembekalan Mahasiswa KKN BMC19 Tahun 2020 secara virtual melalui aplikasi Zoom dan disiarkan langsung Chanel Youtube LPPM UNNES, Selasa (7/7) Siang.

Dr Suwito menjelaskan, dalam kondisi Pandemi Covid-19 KKN daring menjadi kegiatan hitam putih, namun KKN BMC bukan hanya sekadar formalitas semata, KKN daring menjadi sebuah solusi  yang diharapkan memberikan kontribusi dalam bentuk nyata untuk kemaslahatan masyarakat.

“KKN ini kurang ideal, tetapi ini realita yang harus dilakukan dan dihadapi pada masa pandemi Covid 19. UNNES harus tetap memberikan layanan agar mahasiswa tidak mengalami keterlambatan lulus tepat waktu. Oleh karena itu, KKN sebagai salah satu mata kuliah harus tetap diberikan dan dilakukan,” jelas Dr Suwito.

Dr Suwito juga mengatakan, kegiatan yang harus dilakukan pada KKN BMC 19 yakni mencakup bidang Kesehatan, Pendidikan, dan Pemberdayaan Ekonomi.

Dr Suwita menegaskan bahwa mahasiswa melaksanakan KKN BMC19 sesuai dengan panduan yang ditetapkan Pusat Pengembangan KKN dan tetap taat asas protokol kesehatan diantaranya memakai masker, selalu cuci tangan, imunitas tubuh, dan pengecekan suhu tubuh.
