Pengajar Queensland Belajar Bahasa dan Budaya Indonesia di UNNES

Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi yang paling efektif untuk menyampaikan gagasan, pikiran, maksud dan tujuan kepada orang lain. Selain itu bahasa merupakan salah satu aspek dari kebudayaan. Oleh karena itu, sangatlah menarik untuk mempelajari bahasa sekaligus bertukar budaya. Misal orang Indonesia belajar bahasa dan budaya negara lain atau sebaliknya orang dari negara lain mempelajari bahasa dan budaya Indonesia.

Hal itu merupakan yang mendasari terjalinnya kerjasama antara Pemerintah Queensland dan Pemerintah Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Kerjasama ini diwujudkan dalam kegiatan “Teacher Exchange” yaitu pertukaran pengajar dari kedua negara untuk saling belajar tentang bahasa dan budaya Indonesia. Pengajar Indonesia yang belajar ke Queensland ataupun sebaliknya.
Pada kesempatan ini, enam Pengajar Bahasa Inonesia dari Queensland yang belajar ke Indonesia untuk mempelajari bahasa Indonesia dan budayanya. Mereka antara lain Peta Elise Swan, Kym Hall, Peter Lloyd, Julia Bates, Sumadi, dan Simon Brigas.

Keenam pengajar itu akan belajar tentang bahasa, batik, dan tari selama dua minggu dari tanggal 25 September hingga 5 Oktober 2017 di Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES). UNNES menjadi pihak yang dipercaya untuk mengajarkan bahasa dan budaya Indonesia tersebut.

Wakil Rektor Bidang Perencanaan dan Kerja Sama UNNES Prof Dr YL Sukestiyarno PhD menyambut rombongan tersebut di Ruang Rektor UNNES (25/9). Prof Sukes berharap kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan jalinan silaturahmi dan persahabatan antar kedua negara. Selain itu, dapat bertukar pikiran sehingga mampu meningkatkan kemampuan cara mengajar Bahasa Indonesia yang baik.
Ikut hadir Wakil Dekan I Fakultas Teknik, Kepala Humas, Kepala Internasional Office UNNES, Pemerintah Provinsi Jateng, dan para pejabat yang lain.

    Wah, saya bangga sekali menjadi mahasiswa Unnes. Sekarang saya sedang kuliah MKU Bahasa Indonesia bersama Pak Fafa, sedang membahas tentang “Upaya menjadikan bahasa indonesia menjadi Bahasa Internasional”.
