Tak kurang dari 40 dosen Universitas Negeri Semarang mengikuti tes penjaringan calon peserta latihan bahasa Inggris, Kamis (19/1) di gedung H universitas konservasi.

“Dosen yang lulus tes akan dikirim untuk mengikuti pelatihan bahasa Inggris selama 6 bulan di Direktorat Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan,” papar Pembantu Rektor Bidang Pengembangan dan Kerja Sama Unnes, Prof Fathur Rokhman.

Hal itu sesuai dengan surat dari Direktur Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan nomor: 3702/E4.1/2011 tanggal 22 Desember 2011 tentang pelatihan bahasa Inggris untuk dosen tahun 2012.

Adapun syarat dan ketentuan dosen yang dapat mengikuti program tersebut, calon peserta pelatihan adalah dosen tetap dan sudah memiliki NIDN (Nomor Induk Dosen Nasional), dan berumur tidak lebih dari 45 tahun. Nantinya, calon peserta terpilih juga harus mengikuti placement test di pusat bahasa terdekat (UI, ITB, UGM, UM atau IALF) pada tanggal 3 Februari 2011.

Dari hasil placement test tersebut, calon peserta yang telah memiliki IELTS 5.0 – 6.0 atau TOEFL 500 – 550 tidak perlu mengikuti placement test. Nilai yang didapat bukan hasil test TOEFL Like/institusional atau IELTS like.

Peserta yang diterima, wajib mengikuti pelatihan sebanyak 85% kehadiran dihitung tiap bulan. “Bila peserta tidak memenuhi ketentuan ini, maka yang bersangkutan akan dikembalikan ke perguruan tinggi asal, dan tidak direkomendasikan untuk studi ke luar negeri dengan beasiswa dari Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi,” tandas Prof Fathur.

Pelatihan akan diadakan di pusat bahasa UI, ITB, UGM, UM, dan IALF bertempat di kota Jakarta, Surabaya, dan Bali. Program ini dimulai pertengahan bulan Februari sampai Juli 2012.

“Seluruh biaya perjalanan, biaya hidup, dan transportasi lokal peserta selama pelatihan, ditanggung oleh universitas,” ujar Prof Fathur.
