Jumlah kekerasan dan pelecehan seksual terhadap perempuan dan anak di Provinsi Jawa Tengah masih tinggi. Masih tingginya kekerasan itu disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor diantaranya rendahnya penegakan hukum terhadap pelaku, faktor kemiskinan, internet, hingga penggunaan media sosial yang tidak bijak.

Kepala Pusat Studi Gender dan Anak Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (LP2M) Universitas Negeri Semarang (Unnes) Evi Widowati SKM MKes menyampaikan itu saat menjadi nara sumber pada Pertemuan Keluarga Besar Putra Putri Polri (KBPP Polri) Jajaran POLDA Jawa Tengah, baru-baru ini di Hotel Semesta.

Untuk itu, mari saling bergandeng tangan antara Polri, masyarakat, dan perguruan tinggi ikut berperan aktif dalam mencegah terjadinya kekerasan terhadap anak dengan membangun pemahaman dan kepedulian tentang perlindungan anak dan pencegahan kekerasan terhadap anak, ajak Evi Widowati.

    Pertemuan yang patut diapresiasi, marilah kita sebagai warga Jawa Tengah bersama sama mencegah terjadinya kekerasan terhadap perempuan dan anak. Ini adalah PR besar bagi semua elemen masyarakat.

  2. Perempuan memiliki peran dalam penentuan peradaban bangsa. Begitu juga anak sebagai penerus kelangsungan kehidupan bangsa. Mereka harus dilindungi dari yang namanya kekerasan, diberikan hak-hak mereka yang sebenarnya.
    Namun dari tahun ke tahun, tingkat kekerasan terhadap perempuan dan anak semakin tinggi. Ini perlu menjadi perhatian.
    Pemerintah sudah berusaha melakukan berbagai cara dalam pencegahan dan penanganan tapi tentunya dibutuhkan dukungan serta bantuan dari seluruh lapisan masyarakat. Kita salah satunya, sebagai kaum intelek haruslah ikut beperan sesuai bidang kita masing-masing.

    Seharusnya dengan sering terjadinya kekerasan ini pemerintah mengambil langkah tegas dan hukuman yang setimpal bagi pelaku tindak kekerasan
