Semarang, November 27, 2025 — In commemoration of the 18th Anniversary of the Faculty of Law UNNES, the FH UNNES family presented a special agenda in the form of an Environmental and Human Rights Information Speech delivered by two leading speakers in their fields. This event reflects the Faculty of Law UNNES’s commitment to strengthening academic capacity and broadening the community’s understanding of strategic national and global issues.
The first lecture was delivered by Nukila Evanty, S.H., LL.M., MILIR, SJD., a United Nations Women Consultant and Executive Director of the Women Working Group (WWG). In her presentation, she highlighted the importance of protecting women’s rights, environmental sustainability, and the urgency of advocacy based on social justice. The global perspective presented provided in-depth insights into the role of law in strengthening equality and sustainability.
The second speech was delivered by Saru Arifin, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., a lecturer at the UNNES Faculty of Law, who emphasized the dynamics of environmental regulation, the challenges of law enforcement, and the importance of building strong legal institutions that are responsive to ecological crises.
This activity is in line with FH UNNES’ commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, through strengthening understanding of law enforcement and the development of fair institutions. In addition, the environmental issues raised are also related to SDG 13: Climate Action and SDG 5: Gender Equality, reflecting the role of FH UNNES as a campus that is active in promoting sustainable development.
The delivery of this speech further emphasizes the identity of FH UNNES as a faculty that is Resounding in scientific contributions, Powerful in achievements and critical thinking, and Sovereign in maintaining the values of integrity, human rights, and sustainability.
Through this activity, FH UNNES further demonstrates its commitment as an impactful campus present in the community to strengthen inclusive, responsive, and future-oriented legal education.
