Co-Teaching UNNES Physics Education Lecturers at UiTM Faculty of Education Supports SDG 4
On January 13–14, 2025, two lecturers from the Physics Education Study Program, Dr. Bambang Subali, M.Pd. and Dr. Ellianawati, M.Si., started the new year by engaging in co-teaching activities for the Science, Technology, and Society course at the Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia.
Dr. Bambang Subali presented material on the Social Aspects of Science and Technology Development, while Dr. Ellianawati delivered a lecture on the Ethical Aspects of Science and Technology Development. These lectures, conducted online, drew strong interest from UiTM Science Education students, who actively posed critical questions throughout the session.
Although only lasting two credit hours, the discussions felt short due to the relevance of the issues explored—ranging from the impact of science and technology development in Social Sciences and Humanities, Space Science and Exploration, to Energy and Nuclear Science. The co-teaching session, delivered bilingually in English and Indonesian, not only fostered academic collaboration but also highlighted the importance of global dialogue on science, ethics, and society.
This activity reflects UNNES’s commitment to SDG 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing international academic collaboration, improving learning experiences, and exposing students to diverse perspectives. At the same time, the discussions supported SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through exploration of innovation and technology impacts, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) by emphasizing ethics, responsibility, and social justice in science and technology development.
The session ended with a creative touch—a rhyme—which was warmly welcomed by students, leaving a lasting impression of how education can be engaging, inclusive, and globally connected while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
