Universitas Negeri Semarang hosted a Site Assessment conducted by BAN-PT for the Undergraduate Program in Statistics and Data Science (SSD) from March 29 to 31, 2026.
The assessment took place onsite at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), involving a series of academic evaluation activities. The appointed assessors were Prof. Dr. Titin Siswantining, D.E.A. (Universitas Indonesia) and Dr. Irhamah, S.Si., M.Si. (Institut Teknologi Surabaya). They were warmly welcomed by faculty leaders, program management, lecturers, and administrative staff.
The assessment agenda included verification and clarification of accreditation documents, discussions with faculty leadership and program administrators, as well as direct observation of facilities and teaching-learning processes. In addition, interviews were conducted with lecturers, students, and relevant stakeholders to ensure consistency between submitted documents and actual implementation.
The Undergraduate Program in Statistics and Data Science at UNNES is a relatively new program, established in 2023 under the Rector’s Decree. Shortly after its establishment, the program fulfilled the minimum accreditation requirements set by BAN-PT and obtained a “Good” accreditation rating, which remains valid to date.
Since its inception, the SSD program has demonstrated significant growth. In the 2023/2024 academic year, the program received 198 applicants, admitting 44 students. This number increased substantially in the following year to 938 applicants with a quota of 50 students. The upward trend continued in the 2025/2026 academic year, with 1,053 applicants and 77 students admitted out of a capacity of 80.
Cumulatively, over the past three years, the program has attracted 2,189 applicants and admitted 171 students. These figures indicate a strong and growing interest, as well as the increasing national appeal of the Statistics and Data Science program at UNNES.
Through this site assessment, the program is expected to further enhance its academic quality, strengthen governance, and achieve improved accreditation results in the future.
