Yogyakarta, 19 Juni 2025 – Dunia seni rupa kembali menggeliat lewat pameran bertajuk “Pertemuan” yang digelar di Jogja Gallery. Dalam pameran ini, Deni Setiawan, dosen dari FIPP Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), tampil bukan hanya sebagai seniman tetapi juga sebagai motor penggerak kegiatan yang sarat pesan moral dan sosial tersebut.

Pameran ini diikuti oleh lima alumni Jurusan Kriya ISI Yogyakarta angkatan 1998—termasuk Deni Setiawan sendiri—yang kembali bertemu dalam semangat berkarya setelah bertahun-tahun menekuni jalur masing-masing. Karya-karya yang dipamerkan menyoroti berbagai tema penting, seperti kerusakan lingkungan, krisis kemanusiaan, hingga korupsi.

Dalam sambutannya, Pak Deni menegaskan bahwa “Pertemuan” adalah lebih dari sekadar reuni seniman:

“Ini adalah ruang reflektif. Sebuah dialog antar pengalaman dan keprihatinan terhadap kondisi sosial yang terjadi disekitar kita. Kami menyuarakan kegelusahan melalui karya”

Simbol Tikus dan Garuda: Karya Tajam Kritik Deni Setiawan

Salah satu karya paling kuat dalam pameran ini adalah lukisan karya Deni Setiawan sendiri, yang menggambarkan tikus-tikus menggerogoti burung Garuda—simbol negara. Karya ini secara lugas menyindir maraknya korupsi di Indonesia yang terus berlangsung tanpa penanganan yang tegas.

“Korupsi tidak hanya merusak institusi, tetapi juga memakan habis nilai-nilai kebangsaan,” ujar Pak Deni.

Melalui pendekatan visual yang kuat, ia mengajak masyarakat untuk tidak lagi diam, dan mengingatkan bahwa seni dapat menjadi alat perlawanan terhadap ketidakadilan.

Kontribusi Akademisi dalam Ruang Seni Publik

Sebagai dosen UNNES, Deni Setiawan juga ingin menunjukkan bahwa peran akademisi tidak berhenti di ruang kelas. Dengan terlibat aktif dalam dunia seni, ia membuktikan bahwa pendidikan dan kebudayaan bisa bersinergi dalam menyampaikan kritik sosial yang tajam namun berkelas.

Pameran yang berlangsung 19–23 Juni 2025 ini terbuka untuk umum, dan diharapkan mampu menggugah kesadaran serta membangun dialog publik tentang realitas sosial yang sedang terjadi.
