Kendal, 16 December 2024 – The Guidance and Counseling Study Program at the Faculty of Education and Psychology, Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES), has taken significant steps to strengthen educational excellence in collaboration with the Region XIII Education Office Branch of the Central Java Province Education and Culture Office. The primary focus of this initiative is to conduct focus group discussions (FGDs) on career development and character building for students at High Schools, Vocational Schools, and Special Needs Schools (SLB) within the Region XIII Service Branch.
Participants in the FGDs included several lecturers from the Guidance and Counseling Study Program FIPP UNNES, including the Coordinator of the UNNES Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and PhD BK FIPP UNNES. Additional participants came from the Education Service Branch, comprising the Chair of the MGBK for SMA and SMK in Kendal, Batang, and Pekalongan Cities; MKKS SMA and SMK representatives from the same areas; and the Supervisor for SMA, SMK, and SLB in Region XIII.
The goal of these discussions is to explore collaborative opportunities that will enhance educational quality, provide psychological support to students from teachers, optimize guidance and counseling services in schools, foster inclusive learning environments, and improve career guidance.
The expected outcome from these FGDs is to create a harmonious synergy between UNNES, the Cabdin XIII, and educational institutions such as SMA, SMK, and SLB. Additionally, a key objective of the discussions is to socialize the Operational Procedures for Implementing Guidance and Counseling (POP BK) among stakeholders in SMA, SMK, and SLB educational units within the Cabdin XIII area. This socialization aims to ensure that the primary responsibilities and functions of guidance and counseling teachers are well understood and effectively implemented.
