On Tuesday, November 21, the Faculty of Education and Psychology witnessed a pivotal moment as it underwent accreditation by assessors from the Agency for Quality Assurance through the Accreditation of Study Programmes (AQAS) for three prominent study programs. The Study Program in Educational Technology (Undergraduate), Study Program in Non-Formal Education (Undergraduate), and Study Program for Elementary School Teacher Education (Undergraduate) took center stage in this quality evaluation.
The AQAS expert team, comprised of Prof. Dr. Volker Schubert from the University of Hildesheim (Germany), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zeynep Alat from Ege University (Turkey), Prof. Dr. Vicente Antonio Vallejo Pijano III from the Philippine Women’s College of Davao (Philippines), and Rina Kusumawati, a consultant in Special Education and Early Childhood Education (Indonesia), along with Florian Lamert from the University of Freiburg (Germany) representing the student body, has commenced their visit.
On the first day, several agenda items were successfully executed, including discussions with the Senior Management of the University, discussions with the Faculty Management, and a guided tour through relevant parts of the campus such as the library, classrooms, laboratories, etc.
The assessment team was also accompanied by Vi Le and Alexandre Wipf, acting as AQAS consultants. It is hoped that this week-long visitation will proceed smoothly and yield satisfactory evaluations.
The Faculty of Education and Psychology welcomes the AQAS team with enthusiasm, anticipating that the evaluation results will provide an accurate representation of the quality and educational standards maintained. All parties are committed to collaboration for continuous improvement in the delivery of education at Semarang State University.
